How did you repair the plastic surround on the bonnet release?

Ian's finished a bunch of the interior today so I picked up the:
    dash
    seats
    most of the carpet
    center console

All they've got left is the:
    passenger floor mat
front 1/3 of the center console
    door panels

The smell of the seats on the drive home was nearly worth the cost of the whole thing. My dog was strangely interested in the new leather. I kept thinking he was going to mark it, but he just wanted a smell.

I'm hoping to have it all back together for the Vegas meet Aug 20-22.

    FYI on the steering wheel.

You can raise/lower the steering wheel column. It's attached under the dash with a large u-bolt. I've read/been told you can loosen the bolts on the u-bolt and lower the column a little bit (like maybe 1-inch).

that may make things more comfortable with the spacer.

    Also, car looks great.

Supposedly the paint is done and they're just waiting on the glass guy to reinstall the glass. I'm going to take pics tomorrow and hopefully picking it up Thursday! I can't wait to get it back. I've got all sorts of miles saved up to drive.

I saw the car this morning. It's nearly done. All that's left is a little more buffing at the back end behind the license plate and to reinstall the glass. The glass guy is also going to redo the glue around the edge of the windshield and between the pillars and rear quarters. I'm picking it up Thursday and then I can start the long process of putting everything back together like I found it.

The paint looks perfect. I can't find anything to complain about, they really did a great job.

Jason, I have to ask an obvious question. How does an F16 pilot find anything other than flying a F16 satisfying?? I would think the 'need for speed' would be satisfied flying supersonic while full vertical.

    Sure beats a real job....

The Ferrari was one of my life-long goals since I was in high school:
    -Marry a hot wife
    -Fly F-16s
    -Own a Ferrari

Took quite a while, but it all worked out in the end.

F22s are great, and I'm glad they're on our team, but I wouldn't trade. They never get to strafe the ground, what a shame. There's nothing quite like the feeling of setting something on fire with 20mm bullets while going 600mph.

I picked the car up today. I was afraid it wouldn't start, but the battery was fine and it started right up after a month of sitting there. I don't think the paint shop guys were impressed at all that I was going to drive it like this.

    "where's your trailer?"
"no trailer, I'm going to drive it home, can I borrow a bungee cord to hold the doors shut?"

Looking fabulous. I know that road well. When Silverstate motorsports was in that area I used to frequent the mobil station quite often.

started putting it back together today. I got everything done from the windshield wipers forward and from the bonnet back. I guess I'm avoiding the huge interior project for today.

I only had 1 washer left over so I guess I'm doing OK so far at putting it back together like I found it.

The rear bumper surround rubber pieces aren't straight. They've always been like that; I meant to make a steel piece to hold them flat and even bought the steel, but forgot to cut it out. I'll have to remove them again later.

I've been on vacation and not working on the car much. Today I reinstalled the dash, some more window trim, and the rear carpet.

Everything is taking forever. When I start something, I remember how I wanted to fix or change something else to get it perfect and spend all day on something that should have taken an hour.

The amp and its terrible mess of wiring finally finds its place in the dumpster!
