    Enzo trade is the best move. The GTO is at the peak of its perceived market value (think 599GTB a few years ago). In a couple of years, you'll be able to trade the Enzo back for 2.5-3 GTOs.

    Though I love the 599 GTO, I think you made the right decision. Congrats on the enzo and I hope you enjoy it. It really is an amazing car and will be even more special since it is probably the last naturally aspirated v12 supercar ferrari will ever make. Be sure to post plenty of pictures! ;)

    Congratulations George on the supreme current list of Ferrari's :) Judging of the colors you are quite some man for rosso with nero :) Very nice combination.

    Some of you asked me to give you some Enzo vs 599 GTO driving impressions. My first thoughts are:

    1. The GTO has far superior brakes and gearbox. Braking and changing gear in the Enzo after the GTO is like driving a car from a past generation. It feels like the two cars are separated by more than 6 years

    2. I prefer the steering on the Enzo: Sharper, more direct, I even prefer the feel of the small steering wheel.

    3. The Enzo is much lighter and feels it. It is a much faster car although the speed is not as accessible as the point-and-shoot 599GTO. Most people will drive faster in the GTO than they will in the Enzo.

    4. The electronics on the GTO transform the car. Its handling defies belief and makes the car much much easier to drive than the Enzo. However I do feel that an Enzo with 2010-technology tires and brakes would be much faster than a GTO around a track.

    5. The GTO is louder. Almost too loud...I prefer its soundtrack to the Enzo, which is a bit boring at low revs

    6. One HAS to drive the Enzo on RACE mode all the time. The standard setting makes the car feel lazy and outdated. It really wakes up when you put it on RACE mode. The GTO feels very competent on all settings.

    7. Nothing matches the feeling of occasion that the Enzo delivers. Sitting in it is like sitting in a racecar, the interior is fabulous and you never forget you're sitting in something very special. Visibility in the Enzo is surprisingly good and the car is very usable around town. The GTO feels almost like a regular 599 from the inside, although I must admit that a stereo and power windows at my age are very welcome.

    Which one do I prefer?

    I would love to keep both, but I can't afford it I'm afraid...
    If I had to keep one, it has to be the Enzo. I don't think I will ever tire of looking at it, or driving it, even though the GTO has moved the bar significantly in terms of the overall driving experience.
    The GTO shows us how amazing supercars have become. The Enzo is a supercar that now belongs in Ferrari's history books, like the F40, F50 and 288GTO. It is no longer the yardstick by which fast cars are measured, but it still is one of the most desirable cars of the past 50 years

    Does the GTO deserve the name?

    I am still not sure... YES for the being the new performance benchmark, NO for being a 599-evolution with fewer differences than the 308-288 or the 250GT-250GTO pairs and no racing potential...It is however the new king and I still want one!
    The new Enzo must be one hell of a machine...

    Thanks for the great comparison, really gives insight into the characteristics of each car. If the 599 gto is this good and it is supposed to be a big heavy grand touring car, I can't even imagine what the next Enzo will be like!

    Very interesting comparison and I think very fair too, people tend to forget the Enzo is already 6 years old and the strides made in technology during that time have been immense!

    Bottom line both seem to be awesome cars both in my opinion are special in their own right and chosing between the two can never be an objective decision!

    Know many may consider it totally looney, but seeing them side by side, I prefer the GTO's looks. To be fair, never was that blown away by the Zo's looks...too angular and forced for my taste. Indeed, I liked the Carrera GT more when they both hit the tarmac. Its grown on me as years have gone by but the sheer accessable nastiness of the GTO's styling is more to my taste.

    But the Zo, as noted at 6 years past its release date, is legendary. It moved the bar radically and put umphh back into the world class name Ferrari had built around super cars. And, it'll be an icon from the company forever--and I'd guess, be a better value in years to come.

    Now to have them both, sitting next to one another, whoa :)

    I owned a Carrera GT and even though it is a stunning car, possibly more beautiful than the Enzo, it is much less practical. The lack of ground clearance is a serious problem (unless you pay $30,000 to Ruf to put in their adjustable suspension in) and the clutch is almost unusable around town. Also the Enzo is an easier car for the average driver. The CGT always feels on edge...Also with 1250 made, it will never hold its value like the Enzo...

    I get your point on the looks of the GTO vs Enzo... The GTO looks unbelievable from every angle and against any other car

    The more I drive it the more I love it. I took it for a 70km drive today and I was amazed at how usable it is. When driving fast it has an agility and a directness of response that the GTO cannot match, but I still think most people (including me for now) would drive a lot faster in the the younger car. Maybe it is the value of the Enzo, maybe it is the absence of "filters" in the driving experience, but the Enzo is more intimidating to drive quickly.

    All of the, "This car is faster, than that car" is basically academic. A decent, proper race driver in a Ford Focus could probably give the average supercar owner a run for his money on a driver's road or a track.

    The real decision is which puts the biggest grin on your face. Today's answer was the Enzo. Trying to keep up with the latest technology is a useless exercise that Ferrari has become seriously adept at, to the advancement of their bottom line.

    Many of the guys I have instructed, who have 'the latest and greatest' can't match my M3 lap times with anything resembling safety. It will take many hours and miles to discover every nuance and get the most out of an Enzo, using it the way it was intended. All the Ferrari's I have had have been special in their own way, and took years, not months or weeks to be able to really exploit.

    I think the Enzo would have been my choice as well, but I sure wouldn't mind giving that GTO a thorough thrashing on a track......... even though they aren't really Omolagato anything with it except their bank account! :)

    spot on sir! moving forward..there will always be faster, more efficient'..more drivable machines to come. however, there's no certainty in that any of the newer machines will offer the same 'thrill'..the same sense of occasion as certain cars of yesterday. depending on your wants/needs...the newer faster car may NOT tick all the boxes in your mind and your heart:)

    Great post...I think we all get too carried away with the "latest and greatest" that we don't enjoy what we already have to its full extent...The good thing is that I will not be able to afford another car for many years, so I have plenty of time to get to know this one!!!
