Re: post 73; It does look like Jack. I visited him in his little shop in the Valley the day after he dumped the rear-end at the start of a local race. He already had it apart for repair. I think it was this car, but my memory is not to be trusted.

Here are some pix of 0392AM, courtesy of Kerry Manolas, during resto. Also one in my garage before it left the Hollywood hills.

Kare, here is the ownership of 0368 (sorry I said 0386!): Michel Paul-Cavallier (pres. of Pont-a-Mousson); C. P. Anderson, Heidelberg but formerly of Paris, January 1960; Capt. Stanley F. Nelson,Frankfurt, 1960 or 1961; Stephen Pitcairn, Jenkintown, Pa, March 1961 to Dec. 1981; Collection Association Mas du Clos, Dec. 1981. What happened after that? Still at Mas du Clos? This was a Brussels show car, purchased at the show by Michel. While with Pitcairn the engine was gone through by Chinetti, and was painted blue. I still have correspondence from M. P-C and Nelson.

#0360AM was the only 375MM spyder that had the radiator access door mounted in reverse of what it should have been! I owned that car for 23 years and new every inch of it as we had it completely apart at one point in time for a complete restoration. Bought the car in 1981 sold it in 2005...It was a real hand full to drive, but could it go!!!! Nothing but power everywhere. Top end on that car was 174 MPH!!! (with only drum brakes to stop it.) WHAT A CAR!!!

I believe that this Stan Nelson is the person that at a later point was a coprorate pilot for NASA on the Gulfstream I. He was based at Cape Canaveral.
