Well its time to start moving toward my 2nd F-car. When I bought the 77 308GTB I had a choice between the 77 & an 85 QV, I chose the 77 for its rawness. Since I dipped my toe in the Ferrari experience now for over 6 years without going bankrupt I want more. I'm older now, with more aches and pains & want to move to a larger more refined & usable F-car. The 308 is too small, too hard to drive in traffic, & attracts a wee bit too much attention for my liking (I knows its partly my fault for buying red). I want a car I can drive in rush hour traffic at night in the rain with confidence & in comfort. I think my choices are between a 550 Maranello, 456, TR, 360, & 355. I no longer crave a Spyder & rarely put the top down on the cars I own but I think if I buy a 360 or 355 it might behoove (just saw 2-1/2 men use the term ;-))me to have a Spyder for egress purposes. I would love an F1 transmission but am leery of the repair costs. I tend to use my cars as intended & hit the redlines regularly. So for less than 100k whats the smart buy out there? I don't care about resale value because if I buy the right car it will be used up & part of my estate. I want to be able to drive 10k miles a year for the next 5 years without worry or doubling the cost of the car.
So who else here approaching Senior Citizen status has made this move/decision?

AKA 575, and they just fit in the budget.

To the OP, I think the 550 is the best fit, or possible a Maserati coupe.

The F355 is the most beautiful car ever (in my opinion at least) and that's what I voted for. Seriously, the F355 has an aura that floats around it, it's almost angelic.

The 550 is great also, it will go down as a classic for sure. It comes down to whether you want a V8 in the middle or a V12 in front.

    Bill,

I voted for the 550/575 with manual. I'm not approaching senior citizen status......I'm already there.

I'd shy away from the F1 tranny as it's very expensive to repair. Say the pump gives out, that's a very costly part etc. Plus, if your trying to stay incognito, these cars will probably be less noticeable to the average observer.

550 manual. I'm not quite 40 yet and I'm planning on a 550 if I ever get tired of the F355 Spider. One thing about 355's, they don't make much torque.

I still find Ferrari Chat pretty unbelieveable. I don't know a single Ferrari owner, or any exotic car owner that doesn't know exactly what car he is going to buy next. I sure do.

Definitely one of the most beautiful ever IMO also. When it was introduced I would have taken it over any car at the time forsaking price of course.

Sounds like the 550 will suit the OP the best.

Surely won't draw attention. And its so easy to navigate a boat through rush hour traffic.

I voted for the 575 F1. I just feel it will give you more of what you're asking for with style, comfort and no need to shift through the gears which can be good in traffic.
Repairs can be costly but they're Ferrari's so what do we expect.

the TR is least likely to meet your criteria. the 355 is the same size as the 308. i would do a 456/550/575. seems like they have everything you are looking for.
