Hi there, Im new to the forum and relativly new to Ferrari, so be gentle if im asking silly questions. The Left hand side light motor has given up the ghost in our 1998, 355 F1 Berlinetta, its very intermittant, when give a little turn of the manual adjuster it then trys more to operate through the motor, Has anybody any idea of where to get a motor ? its getting power as it should. either new or second hand ? (believe it or not dealers dont have one and say that there is not one available in Italy either ?) or is there another motor which can be used. Any help would be appreciated BonesIRL AKA Eoin
If you are handy, you can remove the motor and clean out the electric connectors, they tend to get corroded when car is driven in rain, that should solve your probelm. If still not working than call Dan at www.ricambiamerica.com and I'm sure he has some motors in stock. Good luck
if you have washed your car lately, raise the light, turn off the battery switch, put a fan in front and wait 24hrs usually its not the motor just wet or bad connections.
Again thanks guys for the advice, Located and fitted a new / reconditioned motor to the 355 and its the same intermittant problem, so now i am thinking wiring problem ? where should one start when a problem is intermittant like this ? normally i would start at fuse box, but as the motor has power sometimes im lost. ps sorry for the spelling ;-( Thanks again Eoin
Not sure if it helps but I had problems too and here is how I solved it: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=210040
