Can anyone direct me to a tow hook mounted front plate bracket? Apparently, driving a Honda 70-75 in a 55 is not as bad as driving a Ferrari at the speed limit but with no front plate. Gave me a warning, but I'm sure this will continue and I'd like to have an easily removable option.

I've got mine mounted with industrial strength self adhesive velcro. You can get it on Amazon. Here's a photo. I've got a clear bra, so I'm not worried about the adhesive ripping the paint off. The adhesive is the strongest I've ever seen. I'd say it's about 3 times as sticky as duct tape. Which is good, since the velcro itself is really strong. I only use a couple small strips of it to hold the plate on. If I used much more, I'd have a hard time getting the plate off to wash the car.

When I entered the car in Concorso Italiano recently, I stripped the velcro from the front bumper once parked on the golf course and then re-applied it at the end of the day.

That doesn't look bad...nice idea. I'm not sure it will work on the 348, though -- the SS lip and the backward-raking area below the grill would make it complicated, I think. I'll have to see. Thanks!

Just wait until you actually get written up, then zip-tie that SOB to the front grill to pass inspection, then in the parking lot of DMV ya cut the **** off. I got lucky and got a clerk who didn't care and signed off on the ticket without getting off her cute butt. Most cops will sign off on it if they're cool. "C'mon, it's a Ferrari..."

    I feel your pain.....

The same law drove me nuts when I used to live in Portland, Oregon. Here was my solution )))

I just ignored it and refused to put front plates on my Ferraris. And, here's what happened over the course of 6 years driving around there w/o front plates )))

Got pulled over 3 or 4 times when driving the Ferraris ---- "warnings" every time.

I also didn't initially (when I first moved there) have a front plate on my daily driver Audi ---- got pulled over once and was given a $60 fine ---- then I put the front plate on that car !!

My conclusion ))) Cops tend to cut you more slack with a Ferrari :)

Incidentally, I just noticed an ad in the latest Forza for an outfit that supplies "clip on" front plate brackets. Might be worth looking into --- anyone tried them, yet???

Just tell the cop you ordered, and are waiting for the bracket so you can mount the front plate. You just didnt get it yet. They will usually let you slide..

In 3 years, I've gotten stopped once by a cop about the front plate. Gave him the "ordered the front bracket" excuse.....his response was, "Who are you kidding? You're not putting a front plate on this car"... then he let me go.

Virginia is a whole new beast when it comes to law enforcement. When I lived there I racked up over $400 in no front plate tickets. I got them from parking enforcement, I even got one from the Park Police. I've never seen the Park Police ticket anyone yet I got one for no front plate. Don't even get me started about speed enforcement and "reckless driving". Virginia is easily the worst state on being overly aggressive on traffic enforcement.

I love and miss the people there but I DO NOT miss the VA police (excluding Robbie)

I haven't had a front plate on my Ferrari or my previous car for years. Only time I got a no-plate ticket was when i left it parked in Georgetown. Go figure.

I just found a metric bolt and nut (stop) to match the tow hook. Then went to the autoparts store and bought one of those brackets the tuners use to angle their plates downward. Put it all together, and folded the front plate at the bottom to lower its profile.

I like it better than blocking the grill.

Just noticed your VA post. Where I live there was NO WAY I was getting away without a front tag (after getting a ticket with my vette). After much trial and error I finally decided to make my VA plate look European and took a bandsaw and trimmed it down and just drilled 2 small holes and used self tapping screws to hold it on with padded tape to keep the rest of it from scratching the lip. It looks really good (I think) and is totally out of the way. The holes are also where they could be filled and touched up easily to return it to stock. If VA asks why it is smaller, remind them all the info is there if full size and that most cars have a tag surround bracket that hides as much if not more on the rear. I haven't had any trouble with mine.

Especially when with a drill, a hack saw, a fine tooth bastard file and $1.00 of angle aluminum from home despot you can fab up something similar it about 20 minutes. Add $2.24 of hardware and presto, your done.

I'd recommend trying it first. Bob's is top quality and works great. BTW, I tried fabricating several of them. As many of you know I've messed with this problem for a couple of years and Bob's product is the first I've seen that works this well. One ticket is about the same price as his bracket and I've gotten at least one ticket every year (had 4 last year) so it's money well spent.
