Sorry when Max says that someone needs a firm hand I start laughing and can't finish the sentence. Someone please be kind and tell Max that its over and that he doesn't get a say anymore.
So after this weekends performance do you think the FIA is more likely to take the 43 points from both Ferrari and the drivers? I am thinking with the title hopes fading that it is more likely not that it should make a difference.
I would agree with your logic, but I still can't see that the FIA would be so brutal as to take away the drivers' points. As I said before there are way too many different interests in the game (e.g. Todt's son Nicolas being Massa's manager). I agree that whatever they decide, the chance for Alonso to win this year's title is close to zero. So from that perspective it won't matter much. And I hope that - should the FIA actually do the unthinkable - Ferrari will take the FIA to court. And threaten to leave F1. It is also interesting to note that the decision will take place just before the Monza GP. So imagine they punish Ferrari: I wouldn't want to be a FIA official at that race. In fact Ferrari might even threaten to boycot the Italian GP. Grande Casino!
I think the FIA has to show Ferrari that they are the daddy and there is no option but to exclude Ferrari, Alsono & Massa from the results of the German GP. It is about rule of law and nothing else. Otherwise they might as well change the name to Ferrari1. With Ferrari realistically out of it they can "punish" Ferrari without really punishing them and everyone wins. I don't see Ferrari suing the FIA and what is the point of empty threats to pull out of F1? That would just be pathetic. I don't think they would go all in on the weak hand they are holding, they are not that dumb, are they?
Works for me. Not sure how "everybody wins" if you punish the drivers. Leaving F1 might be an empty thread, I agree with you there. Then again it is a symbiotic relationship where both parties stand to loose immensely should they split. However I totally disagree on "the weak hand they're holding": Short of a confession by Massa that he was under team orders they have zero proof that there were team orders. There is no shred of evidence for team orders, it is all circumstantial. That might be enough in a sports commission, but I strongly doubt this would be sufficient in civil court. Remember how Briatore won in a real court over the FIA's ban on his being a part of F1? In the end the point of F1 is to entertain the masses in a gigantic marketing campaign. If you slaughter the drivers on the altar, you will get the fans against you. That can only hurt the business of F1 and Bernie won't let that happen. ...that said we did have a USGP 05 with only 6 cars. So sometimes the FIA does decide against the popular and monetary argument. It will be interesting, that's a given. As will the reaction of the Monza fans be.
Why would this weekend have any thing to do with it? The thing has to be decided on its own merits. Drag the extraneous considerations into the equation and we'll start thinking that you have an agenda beyond that stated
Is that the level of evidence you need to convict me of this crime? Yet Massa, Smeadly and Alsono are innocent?
Quite. I'd still like to know how anything that happened today can change the facts from the race in question. Back then I said that if the matter wasn't settled before the next race things would become muddied and a fair ruling would be impossible. I'm too modest to say any more
Did I mention that I am a member of the WMSC? I am just looking for some help from you guys to make my decision Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well you came to the right place in that case: A FERRARI forum clearly has no bias in a case against FERRARI drivers.
Because when it comes to the FIA and Ferrari politics always matter. A penalty that is not a penalty is a very good solution for all parties. If Ferrari would have had a 1-2 here and Hamilton and Webber dropped out it would have been a much bigger problem as there would have been a lot more on the line. I know you can see that. Are you just trying to make the point that it should not matter? I get it that it should not matter but it does.
Even you don't think that makes sense. When you use a ruling to make policy and to right extraneous wrongs you only makes things worse. Then again that kind of thinking by the FIA is typical so maybe you are what you claim
LOL If only I cared I will render my decision on the 8th and people that like red cars will not be happy
