Was the other damaged when his hand slipped while getting personal watching MS on TV, or something Sorry CRG125 couldn't resist . Don't even understand why we are talking about MS anymore, might as well talk about HRT or the equally useless Virgin racing. Pete
I hate to say it but I think you are right, he seems to have lost the edge but still has the bag of tricks which look bad used on the 8th, 9th, 10th, etc Using your bag of tricks at the pointy end of the field is one thing, using them for no good reason is another
you got him in one Schuey should be remembered as a great driver, I hate seeing him cruising around mid field
The problem is FIA allowed this kind of crap for many years to "gentlemen drivers" like Senna and Schumacher. Now that the Pandora box is open, you´d have to blackflag half of the drivers to keep things clean, and no one has the guts to do that.
We are both looking at the same pictures (I'm the guy who cropped them). Will you not admit that Barrichello is substantially closer to the wall than Massa? On the Massa picture it seems like there are 2.5 tire widths separating him from the wall (~24" inches or so). From onboards and other footage it looked like Barrichello was less than 6" away from the barrier. If you are going to make a contention please put some hard numbers out there. I'll change my position if you make a compelling point. I've seen nothing convincing yet.
Okay I admit that Barrichello is closer than Massa. I wont admit that Webber's move was less dangerous than Micheal's. They both were dangerous and yet everyone is making a big deal that what he did was wrong. That was my point with this thread.
The danger from Michael was that he pushed Barrichello extremely close to the wall. Webber did no such thing. Massa was close to the wall, but he wasn't extremely close (and probably why nobody cared about the pass). The danger from Webber is different (from my perspective). He doesn't close the door at a constant rate - so Massa continually has to 'jink' to the right. That just seems like racing. Massa is a professional. He made corrections and executed the pass.
Simply because MS was in like 10th place, so who the fnck cares if he gets passed or not ... Webber was actually racing at pointy end. Your position in a race does make a difference and while MS is puttering around the back of the field it is time to chill a bit and be more sporting. If he ever returns to racing for the lead then yeah put the passer in the wall ... but not when you are just filling up the numbers, make it hard but not over the top like this was. Pete
