I am here to help Yes, it is! I am sure it is the same for the F1 guys when they get lucky on tyres too
Not to get too far off topic but I think we are all tired of team orders anyway http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nApUDu5NvRg This is a good one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mB7Jl__o7B4 This one has Damon Hill, Jim G in his P4/5 and Patrick Dempsey in it
No point in having a rule that's almost impossible to enforce because you only punish the innocent and reward the bad boys.
Here's a scenario for you. Lets say Ferrari is pretty much out of the WCC. Massa is 1st place in the final lap 3 laps of the race. Lets say Alonso is in 10th and has a shot of WDC. Do you DNF or drop Massa back to 9thth to give Alonso a better shot at the WDC?
True, they did take it to another level but Alonso's prints are all over that one so I can only give you half a point
You've described a real "long shot" scenario with (IMO) too many "if's and buts". Who's between our boys? What impact does moving those guys up a position have on the title etc etc [If "we" should decide to break Phil's car, we're giving 25 points to someone else.] However, *if* we were at the last race, and moving Fred from, eg 10th to 9th (2 rather than 1 point) would give him the title (*very* unlikely as the guys in front are probably also involved) then sure, I'd DNF Massa....... [Don's flamesuit ] Returning to the poll, about 10-1 for it seems - Where are all these supposed fans who are against team orders? FWIW, my 02c - I didn't have a problem with Rubens stopping to let Michael win - "It's just a part of this team sport"..... Cheers, Ian
They should really be called Ferrari-orders or Italian-Orders, Ferrari and Flavio are the only ones that seem to use them. No wonder you get 10-1 on the poll.
Respect paid. As to team orders you're dead wrong. As long as there are multiple car teams there will be team orders. Its unavoidable and legislating against it won't work. Ask King Canute
+1 In the so called "good old days" it was considered honorable to hold up the field for your teammate... He'll return the favor one day etc...... [These good old days of course also typically saw 3-4 cars finish on the same lap, half the field breakdown and still no overtaking.... ] This past weekend we had six (6!) different manufacturers & 3 different motors in the top 6 places. They all built their own car! They were all covered by ~1second over a ~1:50 lap! But, it's boring! Cheers, Ian
Thanks As for team orders I am fine with the current system. If teams want to cheat let them but they will have to not make it obvious. I think Ferrari needs to hire Flavio, he has the skill set needed for this
Boring? If you're part of the over stimulated, fast food, ADD generation maybe. For those with an appreciation for nuance not so much. And you kids get off my lawn !!!
LMAO old man high pants ..: . Am crying, you got me back D, how do get whiskey out of a PC keyboard..
