I currently have a code of P1527 on my 2002 Modena as tested on a SD2 at local ferrari shop.

Timing variator circuit (B1): S.C. GROUND
    Below Min. Threshold
    Engine Temperature: 94
    Engine revolutions: 1040
    Counter: 3

Does this mean a bad timing variator going out or do I have a ground problem on my car, I have a few other codes that say S.C. Ground Also. And both of my Knock sensors read Hi. I have 2 new ecu's that are going in the car on monday at the dealer since a company reprogrammed the original ecu's and won't put them back to stock to fix the anti evap and secondary air system that was turned off, so I had to buy 2 new one's.

    P1594 Modular manifold valve (B1): S.C. GROUND
P1451 Secondary air pump circuit S.C. GROUND

    Any help?

    David,
My advise is that we just have to wait until you get the new euc's to start the troubleshooting from ground cero. It is no worth to you just start to fixing things that probably won't be necessary whit the new units. Take this weekend off and save some energy gir the upcoming symptoms with the new units.
    Good luck man!

I would think the S.C. GROUND stands for Short Circuit to ground.
It looks strange to have such an error for several items, except if the engine loom has been damaged and is in contact with the chassis.
Before connecting new ECUs, I would make some measurements with a simple multimeter to check that it is all clear.

I agree. The fact that many of the faults you are getting have a common element --- grounding ---- points to a common problem. Since many signals from different components on the car are grounded via the ECU, I'd think getting the new ECU's installed may make many of the codes go away.

The car runs fine when properly warmed up but does run alittle rough when still cold, like it has a big cam in it.

Update: got the new ecu's in the car today and after 5 hours got the faults down to 6 from 11 that won't go away.

    Still have grounding problem:
    P1527 Timing variator circuit (B1): S.C. GROUND
    P1594 Modular manifold valve (B1): S.C. GROUND
P1451 Secondary air pump circuit S.C. GROUND
P0414 Secondary air valve: Short Circuit

    And then:
    P0102 Air Flow Meter Lo
P1135 Rear O2 Sensor (Sensor 1): Throttle Lo

I got to believe that the sc ground is all tied together in the wiring loom, Anyone have any good starting points to look first and does anyone have a good wiring diagram they can share.
