Seems like I might have posted these in microscopic size in my haste to get outside and enjoy one of the three nice days per year we get up here in Scotland! (Just kidding, it's actually four;-)
Anyway, my mistake is now hopefully rectified.

It's still an interesting picture though, particularly as there is actually a nice 1970s colour Urraco in the middle of it. Thanks for posting it, even if it isn't the car factory. What's the brochure?

The article states that the LM-002 body and chassis (at least) were made by the outfit pictured in Spain. Is this correct? I did not know that if that is the case.

yes, thats correct and the reason for the poor paint quality of the LM002', the ready cars were then shipped to St.Agatha where they got the technical equipment.

Its an old Lamborghini Oleodinamica S.p.A. brochure. I like the pic aswell, and as Raymond mentioned, maybe its Fabio`s old Urraco.

Paul, it seemed to me from your original post that you were speaking specifically of the car factory which you visited in 1993.

"I thought I would try a new thread idea out. I have been lucky enough to visit the factory once in 1993, but I find the history of the place fascinating. As such, I thought I would start a thread showing pictures of the factory throughout the years - Paul"

I simply wanted to be helpful by keeping things on topic by making sure an image posted was not misidentified.

However, I agree that besides Automobili Lamborghini SpA, Lamborghini Trattori, Lamborghini Calor, Lamborghini Bruciatori, and Lamborghini Oleodinamica are interesting too. I'm sure some have images of those factories they can share.

Well I can tell you the little I know about the Espada found in a chicken coop as it happened in my neck of the woods Carrollton Georgia. Back in or around 2001 there was an auction were they sold some 300 cars that were put up over years in an old chicken coop in Carrollton Georgia. I believe the person that bought the Espada had some sort of salvage yard and bought it just to say he bought a Lamborghini. I have searched high and low for links to the story however all of the sites that had information on the story are long gone. If I do happen to stumble across anything I will post it up. Sincerely Vic

Agreed of both accounts. I did set this thread up to focus on the Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A's factory, but, as you point out, I would find shots of other factories of interest as well, and I'm sure that no-one would mind if they appeared every now and then, particularly if they have cars in them as well:) Indeed, the 350GTV was assembled at the tractor factory anyway, so I'll have to try and find the images I have of that.

    Regards,
    Paul

What an excellent array of the LP560-4's assembly line!!! Were you as much of an anorak as I was in 1993 and gathered up any chassis numbers of the cars you saw, or is it just me that is that sad? I'd heard that it was very hard to get permission to photograph the factory now. Is that the case, or is it just some misinformation floating about?

    Here's the story behind it:

Sorry, I didn't think to take the pictures of the chassis numbers.
It was quite hard to obtain the permission because I asked for it in the beginning of March, get an answer 1 week later, on which they told me that the visit could be made. Then 10 days before the visit, a new email say me that the visit couldn't be made :(
Then, 2 days before, the 20th of April, get a new email saying that the factory is available (but only the Gallardo line).
So I was quite hard, but that was a great day, because I also made the visit of the Museum (http://www.photos-automobiles.com/spotting/santagata/index.htm), and get a photoshooting of the new 570-4 Superleggera (http://www.photos-automobiles.com/shootings/lamborghini_lp570/index.htm)

The day before, I aslo visit the Pagani Factory : http://www.photos-automobiles.com/spotting/pagani/index.htm :)

No apologies for shamlessly posting some pictures from articles that I own that have appeared over the years in various magazines. I hope some of them are new to viewers. The first two are from Autocar 1 April 1966, the next two colour images are from the August 24 1968 issue, followed by a shot of the half stripped Miura and a nice 350GT/400GT pair from CAR August 1966, an unusual one of what I think is the paint drying booth from Het Bovagblad in 1968, then an image of what I believe is the Miura prototype from Motor Sport October 1967 with all those lovely 350/400GTs behind it, two colour shots of the 350GTV taken in 1974 when it was stored around the back of the factory, and finally a 1967/1968 shot of the Miura production line.
I hope more will follow soon.

    Ciao,
    Paul

Many thanks for the additional info. I too have tried to find some threads on this car, but to no avail. They were on the Internet some time ago, but as you say, they have disappeared.

Presumably the 350GTV was resprayed to the silvery grey colour after it was green. Like the six exhaust pipes!

Right, thought I had seen some early photos of the car in the silver colour. It's a very stylish car. When you look closely at it, you can see design features that went into later cars, such as the 350 & 400GT, and the Miura.

As I'm not at all happy with the quality of the images I posted earlier, I'm trying an experiment by scanning them at a higher resolution to see if it works. If the chosen pictures come out better, I'll dribble in the rest of the images in a better quality format soon, but as it's currently 1.20am and I'm having to correct every second word of this post because I can't type to save myself when I'm this tired, the rest of the replacement images will come on another day.

    Cheers,
    Paul
