Maybe considerably more, a lot of yearbooks recently liquidated on eBay by Mr_Seeker.

See if you can find his results.

    Good or better condition???

Ferrariliterature.com is another place to check pricing...

    Hi Eric
3 have sold on Ebay in the last year - average price was about $550. They were all in good - mint condition. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the input Nathan and Bubba, it seem condition is an huge matter when valued.
I think maybe $400 is the right value for this one, it seems there are some reprints on the market aswell.

    Hi Eric
There are no reprints for 1961. Reprints were produced many years ago (most in the mid-70s) for 1949, 1951, 1957, 1960, 1963 and 1966.

As some of you may know, Classic and Sports Car magazine features an automobile personality talking about his favorite car book(s) each month.

A few months back, I was stunned that someone I admire a lot, Lord March, named The Treasury of the Automobile by Ralph Stein, as his favorite. I was stunned because my parents gave this book to me as a Christmas gift in 1961, and I still have it!

I thought you all would like to know that in this month's issue our own Marcel Massini named "Ferrari in Camera" by F-Chatter Doug Nye, and "Ferrari by Mailander" as his favorite books about cars.

    Jack.

It is. I'm amazed at the number of excellent books Karl Ludvigsen manages to produce.

Jack, would it be possible to scan the article and show it here? looks like a interesting article.

Mailander book is great, only the printing of the images could be a little darker in my opinion.

Did Marcel mention the Emotion Ferrari book of Maurice Louche, a superb book full of images!

Here is the text of the "MY FAVOURITE BOOK" feature in the September, 2010, issue of Classic & Sports Car magazine:
    ____________________________________________________________________________

    MY FAVOURITE BOOK
    Marcel Massini

    Ferrari By Mailander
    Karl Ludvigsen

"I can look at period photographs for many hours and many long nights" says Ferrari historian and author Massini. "I truly enjoy looking at old Ferrari photos and finding out all the details-not just the car but also the location, the people, and the background. It's the best window into life in the '50s. Imagine arriving somewhere with a sporty, aggressive, loud Ferrari, amidst the mundane post-war stuff. It must have been spectacular. Brutal racing Ferraris were driven in regular trasffic, something which is impossible today.

" 'Ferrari in Camera' by Geoff Goddard and Doug Nye (Palawan) has so many fascinating photographs of the '50s and '60s and is one of my top two. The reproduction quality is very high and the size of the photos large. From these great images it's easy to start dreaming about the Targa Florio and imagining that 250LM racing around the corner! But I also very much like Karl Ludvigsen's "Ferrari by Mailander" (Dalton & Watson): every one of its brilliant photos tells a story."

I have questions about "The Big Red Book" as it seems to be commonly known:

    Is there an English version?

Was each copy inscribed with Ferrari's signature, and was the signature done manually by him, or was it printed?

    Thank you.

    Jack.

    Hi Jack,

No English version was ever printed. Each copie has a printed signature on the first page.
Here are some pictures of my edition.

    #1 Cover of the book
#2 Printed signature on first page
#3 Original signature (with year added)

    Best,

    Maarten

"Ferrari - A Champion's View" by Phil Hill.

My copy was damaged recently, so I'm looking for a replacement at a reasonable price if anyone knows of a source (already checked ebay: nothing there; Amazon vendors have a few at ridiculous prices; nothing acceptable on ABE).

    Thanks.

    Jack.

From $125 for damaged goods up to $400 for a new one, all from clueless Amazon vendors.

Lucky you. Sell it to me. NOW!

Water damage due to inattentive house-sitter.

"Ferrari au Volant"....... Does anyone know this book? It's in French.

PS: Still looking for a realistically priced copy of "Ferrari: A Champion's View."
