I saw the car in Monaco over the weekend and yes it is an art installation. It's in a single garage which has a glass front - the photos were taken through the glass. Google 'Bertrand Lavier 308 GTS' for some links but I couldn't find a great deal of information. Here's a few more pictures... Looks like he just threw a bunch of old 308 parts together and then painted over it thickly with a brush (used colors including clear). IMO, not very artistic.
I suspect it's a tatty old body that was used - note the absence of wing mirrors and door handles. Art-wise it's not my cup of tea but it certainly caught my eye. It was the only Ferrari I photographed, despite seeing an Enzo and loads of 458's, 599's 612's, 430's, 360's & California's in just 36 hours.
Just because you take something that was art BEFORE you touched it, and slapped some paint on it Jackson Pollock-style, doesn' mean that what you did is "artistic" in any sense....
Yuck. No, really... YUCK. Stupid waste of time - like that nitwit that put a crucifix in a jar of pee and called it "art". Just STUPID ... plain and simple STUPID WASTE OF TIME and a WASTE of a CAR. Do I make myself clear? Let me know if not and I'll expound Jedi
Actually art is that... Anyone can make something like that and after that he becomes an artist... I bet that maybe a silly millionaire will buy it for much more money than the real value of the car... Modern art? No thanks!
