Got hit this weekend. Need a body shop for the Mini ASAP. Only the best will do. Car is FOUR MONTHS old! I was about to grab my keys and head to Wagon!! D'oh. Lucas.
I'm referring to this: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=139877707&postcount=4 I also read someplace else that two of their guys started their own shop. It seems their day has passed. Lucas.
Try Robert Appel at Autocrafters in Manassas. He is one of the best, but i'm not sure he'd work on a Mini. Worth a shot though.... Robert Appel Autocrafters 8395 Euclid Ave Ste D Manassas, VA 20111 (703) 335-9646
if you want the best for your mini, try karosserie in PA. they did a super job on the paint & bodywork of my blue 308.
Thanks John, but as much as my love my little fella I don't think I'm going to drive to PA. I also can't imagine they'd have time for my car.
I second Karosserie. IMHO, they are as good as it gets. They have true artisans working there, as well as the latest in technology from their paint booth on down. When someone dented my Mondial they reformed the fender by hand. The car looked so good, she took Platinum a week later at the Reading Concours. Give them a call!!!!
While Karosserie is good (in fact, REALLY good), they're expensive, slow and inconvenient. We've used them many times on our older and rarer cars. For the newer, less expensive production stuff, it's overkill. WagonWerks was about as good as you could get, short of Karosserie, but if protecting value matters, Karosserie may be worth the premium. But I won't be sending my car to them for a bumper re-spray if it needs one. CW
JT's has done some impressive work for me in the past. Great quality, highly knowledgeable and very good communication. Mike
JT did some excellent work on my Ferrari. But I was ht head on last winter in my Mini Cooper S and Imperial Auto Body in Rockville did some excellent work on my Mini. Had some wind noise about a year later, which they fixed right away. Rob in Potomac
I have had Ferraris and Astons done at D&V, as well as some vintage cars and have nothing but good things to say about them...highly recommended.
If it were me I would contact Matt Brown at Whitehorse Auto Conceirge and let him handle everyone. His concierge services are impeccable and I'm certain he knows the right man for the job most people think of Matt of being just a transporter, but he is more then that. He will pick up the car get it to a very reliable body shop have them fix it and return it to you the way it should be done. I experianced his services first hand and to say the least I wish we had someone like him in my area. Your in his area seems like a no brainer. Also mo headaches either you will deal directly with one person who has an incredible reputation.
Maybe so, but probably not that simple. Shops are reluctant to work on cars or accept payments when 3rd parties are involved. And rightfully so. As the owner, you'll at least have to prepare the customer authorization forms and perhaps sign a power of attorney.
Thanks for the tip about WHITE HORSE. I don't think I'll use them for this purpose, but I'll keep them in mind for future needs. Does anyone have experience with COLOR CRAFTERS?
I had some work done on my Fcar at JTs after hearing a lot of good things about them. Not 100% satisfied. Got NO satisfaction/consideration from them. Probably would not go back.
It was a paint only job - no body work was done so I have no idea how they rate on that level. I had my front bumper resprayed. Wanted single stage paint but they convinced me to go base/clear - more durable, better matching, etc. I took their advice as they are the professionals. Well it didn't match. The response was that it is 20 year old paint on the car, what did I expect? I expected a highly recommended (I did just what you are doing), high end shop to do a proper job. In my eyes they did not and would not do anything about it. In the coming years it will get chipped again and I will have it done again - somewhere else.
