Looks like the FIA have decided that Ferrari management is punishment enough for Scuderia Ferrari http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/motorsport/formula_one/8964502.stm The FIA have also fined McLaren $100 Million for the fuel save team orders
You guys in the UK with red cars might want to leave them in the garage for the next year or so... Twitter is one huge Ferrari hate fest right now. Not sure how this is going to sell cars... http://twitter.com/#search?q=ferrari
Here are a few from Twitter. a_f1podcast Ferrari is more dishonest than you. Can you confirm you understand that? #f1 AdnanAldijana @5LiveF1 how many mentions did you get in the form of: Ferrari International Assistance? Just wondering cupra Hmmm.... if JB and LH weren't in #F1, this fan would have turned off by now.... #FIAHammeringNailsIntoTheCoffinOfRacing #FIA #Ferrari DAHoghtonCarter Is disgusted with the FIA, which has collaborated with Ferrari in bringing F1 into disrepute and highlighted that money wins over sport shortchick77 @jennybull typical isn't it when are the FIA ever going to stand up to Ferrari?? f1fanatic_co_uk So one point costs $14,285. Ferrari will wonder who they can pay $614,285 to so Alonso can lead the championship. #F1 ejsbennett @VirginRacing Surely no-one would mind if you used a bit of medieval 'persuasion' on Ferrari? For the interest of the sport's credibility wizardweb @5LiveF1 I think it's stupid it's illegal to steal a Ferrari. So I'm going to do it and that'll get them to change the rules. ;-) mike_griffin_f1 You can guarantee that if any other team does what Ferrari did, they'll get a massive penalty. Sad really, a biased organisation running F1. F1_updates Ferrari break rules, no further punishment, fia to change rules to match the way ferrari work. niallsharkey Scuderia ferrari = how to ruin a race..****s 8ballali @5LiveF1 We know the original punishment is still in place. It was a pathetic punishment and the fia have bottled out because its ferrari. Those are just a few that came in over the last 2 minutes. There are hundreds coming in as I type.
You know all you Ferrari haters should FINALLY find another forum to spew your poison. Isn't there a McCheaters forum somewhere?
+1. I think the rule will be dropped after this season as it is basically unenforceable. I also hope Domenicali gets dropped but that's another topic....
From your mouth to Todt's ear. The FIA is hoping everyone will just forget the matter and avoid further embarrassment. If they don't change the rule it will happen again...and again.
So i am waiting all day for the FIA verdict regarding Ferrari, and is the world media. And Mclaren gets punished. That makes sense Anyway, i am leaving out for Monza tonight. I think the red car should be safe in Italy, better drive fast through France though
This is yet another rule I take issue with in F1. This one should be sh*t-canned next season...along with many others.
Another 10 years of 'Ferrari International Assistance' BS on the internets and in pubs... I don't agree with the decision, IMO it should have been taken care of much quicker (take away WCC points for the Hockenheim fiasco) and let the drivers keep the points. Neither driver could really have been punished.
The fact that it took so long meant that whatever decision was reached would be tainted. Of course any verdict based on an unjust rule is at best compromised. At worse utterly farcical.
So it only cost Ferrari $100,000 to use good sense and avoid a dangerous passing situation between teammates. Next time they may have the good sense to manage this type of situation during the pit stops, if FIA doesn't straigthen things out first.
Well thank goodness that goon Mosley isn't around anymore. He would have blindly applied the letter of this (stupid) rule and imposed a pointless penalty on Ferrari. At least the FIA had the guts to recognize that the Team Orders rule is stupid as it has been relentlessly abused by every front running team since its introduction. I agree with the calls to have the rule changed.
Isn't FIA french for "don't believe everything you read"? One thing Ferrari and FIA have in common is that what they tell the press and what is going on behind closed doors don't necessarily have any real relationship to each other. (Okay, you can sort your drivers all you want, as long as you keep them out of the way of the script for the "cliffhanger" season results between McLunk and Red Bull. Another "by 1 point" season finisher.) ("Fernando, Lewis is more popular than you. Confirm that you understand that message." )
