I'm hoping the lack of an update means he's currently enjoying driving the car home. :)

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Well I flew from chicago to maryland last night, the owner of the car was gracious enough to pick me up from Dulles in DC and drop me at the hotel. Got a chance to ride and drive the car last night. 348 TS Speciale. #71.
Terriffic body shape, paint original with the front lip redone 2 years ago for chips. Driving it was a very strong car, euro set with advanced cam so the torque and pull is fantastic. 3-4th gear make you really sit back in the seats.
Interior is very good shape, kevlar seats, carbon fiber center and gauges nicely done.
Leather is nice, no shrinkage on the dash. NO sun damage.
    Updated pedals, dead pedal etc.
Had a PPI with Richard Capoccia at Competizioni in maryland, very gracious host. Spent over 3 hours just walking through the car with me. Every seal, boot, wire, hose, nut, bolt was checked over. Suspension, brakes all taken down and specd. Engine leakdowns were only 2% +/- 2%. Each bank was very consistent. Had new gaskets, clutch resurfaced, Hill bearings, hill tensioners all done. NGK's and new plug wires last year. Tubi with test pipes. Air flow sensors done.
Welds and coatings were all original. Nuts and bolts had factory markings on them. Bilstein shocks were perfect. No weld damage anywhere, under, inside etc. The car has never been racked or dinged. New Toyo Z's this winter.
I was able to view every maintenance record on the car so far.
Going back to redrive it again later this afternoon. If all goes well, I already have insured the car with haggerty for a guaranteed policy, Ill be on the road tomorrow am, headed back to chicago.
All thats left is a handshake and a few signatures!!
Again I wanted to update the group, and say thank you again for all the help you all have shared with me.
If anyone is between maryland and chicago and is out and about, let me know!

Paul, that is fantastic - I am very happy for you, it looks like it is pristine condition, and obviously from the PPI there is proof that this bad boy was maintained and cared for exactly the way it should be.

Have a safe trip home, and welcome to the Brotherhood!!

LOL!!! And amazing that anyone drives a real 250 GT California on a public road...

    Well said.

Congrats to the OP on your 348. It looks like the crappy original plastic inside was replaced, and overall looks well cared for.

If you get too much grief, 355s have an eye-watering list of problems, so it's all relative.
