Is this the corrrect owners manual for a 79 308 GTB? The one that I have has a different cover, however, I was told that this version was the proper one.

There's a US specific handbook 150/78 which could be more correct for 1979 - official Marpart reprint photo attached - your photo is 116/75

There's the NON CAT North American '76 Manual in the middle bottom row, then there's an insert for '77...with a few notes and updated wiring diagram.

    I had a 1978 Manual I don't recall it's cover.....

My pdf 150-78 NA (North American version) has a light blue cover, 115 pages and was probably used for 1978 through 1980 carb cars. There exists a 1978 Spare Parts Catalogue, US Version, with 150 pages.

For earlier cars, there is a 1977 owner's manual addendum with 9 pages, marked 'for 49 states'. It refers to the 1976 OM as the full OM. Always wondered which state was left out?! Alaska or Kentucky !? Since the addendum has an electrical diagram and evaporative emission details, those are obviously changes not made to 1977 euro cars. The evap diagram is carried over into the 1978 150-78 OM.

There are enough differences between 1977 and 1978 cars to warrant having the 1978 OM as a proper OM as it carries no car year marking, only the publication date.

I have that Spare Parts catalog.

You are correct too there's a 1976 "Complete Manual" but the '77 update is a small brochure.

It adds the microswitch under the seat.....;)

There's no WorkShop Manual, either...we are to use the 308GT4 one from 1975.

That's the only bad part about the factory site, as once you register you can only access "your year" on Technical Support, so if you say "1977"....you don't get much!!! LOL!

I'm sure it was California, and there was another insert intended for that State.

Maybe they never got it done????

There's got to be a way around that but I haven't found it. They don't allow for anyone having two cars as many owners do or selling your existing car and getting a newer one. If anyone knows the key, please speak up.

The picture of the one attached to the original post in currently for sale on eBay for $149.00. The one that I have appears to be a reprint not the original as its all in black and white.

Black spine tend to indicate the Marpart reprint - does yours have any numbers ? It might be the Euro 155/78 equivalent to the US - if you post a photo and/or the references we can probably identify easily

My car is in the shop and dont have access to the manual at the moment, however, yes it does have the black spine, looks like a piece of black tape.

So this is a reprint? Makes sense as it doesnt look like a quality factory issued piece.
