Put them on my 348 as well.

Much better than the standard ones.

Did you also put them in the park lights Sy?

Or are they LED parklights?? They look great!

My park lights look yellow and horrible.

IF.........I fit HID's, I will also change those poxy park lights.

 

We put LED bulbs in the park lights.

I used to hate the look of the standard side lights. They looked crap and it would have looked funny if I had kept them with the new HID lights.

LED park lights look great. Maybe I should fit HID's, just so I can fit LED park lights.

And they DO look crap with HID and standard lights. I fit HID lights to Nicole's Statesman the other day. But I didnt have LED park lights at the time. Looked REALLY bad.

Got some LED lights in there now, looks fantastic with her HID's.

 

By Haters I meant that some people do not appear to approve of the installation of HID Xenon aftermarket lights into stock housings. I for one do not care or mind them. Most people on the road drive like fools so the blinding part is not a factor for me! I can at least see them coming from a distance and hopefully avoid them. Sorry but English is not my first language so I may not be as eloquent as yourself.

 

In many states, installing an HID bulb inside a stock OEM housing will get you a ticket. The halogen housings were not designed for HIDs and scatter the light resulting in the "blinding" effect. This is not really an issue with halogens because they don't put out the same amount of intense light. A good HID setup would have a projector housing that allows for a sharp cutoff of all this new light to prevent it from blasting the eyes of oncoming drivers. Here are some pictures to explain my point. I am aware that these are Corvettes and not Fcars, but the effect is the same.

These are pictures of a C5 Corvette that has had HID bulbs installed in the factory housings, note how unfocused the light beam is.



These pictures are also of a C5 Corvette, but this one had a proper conversion done, which included new projector housings. You'll see there is a huge difference in the difference of the light pattern on the wall.

 

I'll admit that the enforcement is pretty lax for a lot of areas as I see the same thing. However it can happen, a coworker got one when I was living in Hawaii for the lights in his MR2.

 

Yes, this proves my point exactly. A stock C5 uses reflector headlights. Reflector headlamps with aftermarket HIDs is where the "blinding others" comes from. I already talked about this.


So here are the pics of the beam pattern. I'll cede that the cut off is not 100%, but it sure isn't blinding!
