ok I know this toppic is beaten up bloody ...but what is the best gear oil for an f430 F1 ?? After doing multiple searches I get info on previous models , 308,328, 355,360s .... does the 430 have the same style diff ??? redline , royal, valvoline ??? ..should I be messing with lsd dditives here ? Thanks
what we put in at the shop is the shell 75w90 the 360 and 430 use the exact same gear box where as the the other models are different compared to the 430/360. when refilling the gearbox i forget exactly the capacity but check the fluid level by unscrewing the dipstick and having it rest on the hole (not screwed in). also recheck the level after the fluid has warmed up.
Jon- The 355, 456, 550, 575, 612, and 599 all call for the same or similar Shell 75W-90 GL-5 oil in the transaxles as the 360/430. Taz Terry Phillips
shell 75-90 would my first choice but any good 75-90 synthetic transaxle oil should be good as long as it has a friction modifier for the diff in it.if there is no friction modifier the diff will chatter.
