Vipers are better for drifting than for road racing with their weak brakes and heavy front ends.

Had one show up at the Dunlop Track in Huntsville some years ago, but only to watch. He did brag about his 1,000hp motor, but he didn't want to actually use it.

Sigh...had he done so then I could have written the above story intead of you!

Really? Have you ever driven a Viper? I can't vouch for the older RT/10 but my '97 GTS did great on twisty roads and the road course. The Viper actually rests the better half of it's <3400 lbs on the rear axle. They are actually quite difficult for the 'normal' folks to drift because of the breakaway characteristics of 13" wide tires and 300rwtq just off idle.

I'm not knocking the Ferrari in any way (I almost bought Dino's car a couple years back, I have a 355 now) but I just wanted to say that Vipers are great handling cars and not all owners are pricks. ;-)

Did you read Dino's article?! On road courses like Little Taladega, the Lotus Elige puts up one heckofa fight next to my 348. Tough for a front-engined car to do that, though.

I'm willing to drift a Viper, though! Let's find out the old fashioned way if they are driftable (I think that they are).

Might as well have fun finding out, yes?!
