I have been writing for a UK based site that is run by one of the editors of EVO magazine. You 348 might be interested to hear how they fair against a gaggle of Vipers... http://www.auto-journals.com/journals/Ferrari?model=348&journal=187
Vipers are better for drifting than for road racing with their weak brakes and heavy front ends. Had one show up at the Dunlop Track in Huntsville some years ago, but only to watch. He did brag about his 1,000hp motor, but he didn't want to actually use it. Sigh...had he done so then I could have written the above story intead of you!
Those guys are always fun to 'play' with. Did you notice that they made my CS the cover car for their site?
You gotta love big egos. Really, really big egos because it is so much fun to watch them when they deflate.
Nice read ! I liked the part of what do you have in that thing supercharded, turbo ? Nope 3.4L v8. HA!
Hooray for "my little pony"!!! Nice article! When I first read the headline, though, I have to admit thinking, "Oh $h%*. What did I get photographed doing??"
that is awesome!!! nothing better than shutting people up by actions. well done!! nice write up. enjoyed reading about it! Love to see pictures. Keep it up!!
Really? Have you ever driven a Viper? I can't vouch for the older RT/10 but my '97 GTS did great on twisty roads and the road course. The Viper actually rests the better half of it's <3400 lbs on the rear axle. They are actually quite difficult for the 'normal' folks to drift because of the breakaway characteristics of 13" wide tires and 300rwtq just off idle. I'm not knocking the Ferrari in any way (I almost bought Dino's car a couple years back, I have a 355 now) but I just wanted to say that Vipers are great handling cars and not all owners are pricks. ;-) Rob
Did you read Dino's article?! On road courses like Little Taladega, the Lotus Elige puts up one heckofa fight next to my 348. Tough for a front-engined car to do that, though. I'm willing to drift a Viper, though! Let's find out the old fashioned way if they are driftable (I think that they are). Might as well have fun finding out, yes?!
