Formula 1™ 2010 - Game (PC/XBOX360/PS3)

Gamestop.com says ship date is tomorrow. I would expect it in store Thursday.

Downloaded the game on Steam and played a bit.

The game is VERY involved.

There is no way to just jump into the action with a "quick race."

The graphics are amazing and the car physics seem right on.

It is a very deep game. Lots of options, car tweaks, etc.

Really great so far!! My online handle is downforcemedia.

I will be on later tonight if anyone with the PC version wants to race!!

 

I had a nagging feeling it would be: In one of the previews they talk about drivers giving interviews and that you have to earn your way up the ladder in career mode etc.

Quite frankly: I hate that kind of stuff.

I paid the admission price and so I want to be able to pick and choose what I can drive etc. I know it is all about "earning the levels" because kids need an incentive blablabla.

Anyway, since it is the only modern F1 game, I'll deal with it and work my way up the ladder. But I probably won't enjoy it much until I sit in the Ferrari. It was the same for me with all the driving games. Call me a fanatic or purist, but if it doesn't have a Ferrari engine, I don't care.

 

Dang, my Logitech WingMan Formula Force GP wheel doesn't seem to be recognized, despite looking like it is supported.

And man is it hellish trying to drive it via a keyboard.

Grumble.

 

Anyone try it out with a Logi G27 yet? I'm interested to see if it's fully supported, or just kind of supported.

 

While getting ready for F1 2010's release, my old gaming cockpit will be sent out for powder coating in the morning. I'm also looking into the G27 to replace the old DFP unless there is a better choice for the PS3. Anyway, here's an old photo of my first cockpit prototype from late 2005.

Some will say Fanatec, but the G27 is fantastic. I can recommend it 100%.

 

How are you dealing with the g27's shifter in this setup?

 

I'll just add another attachment to the center rail, shouldn't be that hard to make. Btw, do you use paddle shifters?

Took me 2 hours after a 5 hour download to get the game running, but it's still a little finicky. It would take me 30 min to run through all the probs I had... Anyway, so far the game play is great. I've only tried a few tracks so far. I get a real lack of sense of speed on Monaco, but Suzuka and Bahrain have been cool. I have every graphic option maxed ingame and through ATI, but there are still jaggies. I'm guessing because it was a console port.

My gamertag for this is Latsyrc8. I'll be watching for you guys.

 

I started with STR. So far I got 6th at Bahrain, 3rd at Australia, and 10 just now at Kuala Lumpur after getting hit off the track 3 times! My problem is that 3 times already, the game has frozen between loading screens. I just got back in and found my KL race didn't even save, so I have a second chance. This game is so addictive!

I just got the "5 seconds ahead" thing too, although he was right in front of me. Some of the penalties have been bad, too. They should be more realistic and penalize ya 3 days after the race.

 

which version did you get and where did you get it from?

 

HAHA I just meant did you get it from a gamestop or Bestbuy. I didn't realize you were from OZ though. BTW it's a 17 hour flight for me, and not one I really want to take again anytime soon. Although Quantas was really nice lol.

I went to a local Gamestop to see if they had any copies for sale yet, even though it shipped from Grapevine, TX (20 miles away from me) it won't be here until sometime tomorrow. I went ahead & reserved my copy.

 

i finally got my copy at best buy they only had 4 copies come in. everywhere else told me tomorrow. so far i enjoy the game. my girlfriend left for school just now so im gonna start a career on expert medium and hard are to easy i shouldnt dominate the race in a lotus ha

 

Build yaself a gaming home theater PC, and put Steam on it.
