I can't see Kubica playing 2nd fiddle to Alonso.

Massa is having a hard time playing the role as it is.

Kubica at Ferrari makes a lot of sense for a lot of reasons, and he is Alonso's closest friend on the grid, so its possible the pairing could work well together. But unless Massa wants to leave Ferrari at his own accord at the end of this season, i can't see Robert in Red in 2011.

You have to consider the design stage that Ferrari's car for next year is already at and take into account that it has been designed around Fernando Alonso (height: 5'7") and Felipe Massa (height: 5'5").

At this comparatively late stage, I can't see Ferrari going back to the drawing board with the design to fit Robert Kubica (height: 6'1").

It should also be noted that at the moment it appears that Ferrari have exactly what they like to have when it comes to drivers, and that is one naturally dominant driver and a dependable (most times), fast driver who, when required, is prepared to play a supporting role.

Were Ferrari currently dominating F1 like in Schumacher's era then they might decide to have two drivers in the team who are not prepared to give any ground to the other, but at the moment they are a long way away from that sort of luxury and so the current driver line up suits them fine.

Alonso and Kubica is a dream-team for me. By far my two favorite drivers.

So then Petrov and Kimi at Renault next year. Renault gets to keep the Russian money and have a WDC. Everybody wins.

Ferrari needs to let Alonso go, bring in Kubica and let Raikkonen drive again, then I'd like Ferrari's F1 team. lol

Ferrari doesn't need Kubica. They have Alonso.

You right about this, building and efficient and focused team around Alonso's needs is most important thing right now at Ferrari.

Massa currently is the perfect partner for Alonso, as Massa has Ferrari in his blood, and will do anything for the sake of the team. Massa is also used to being in the position of the dominated underdog, but seems to have thick enough skin to deal with it and more impressively learn from it, and im sure he has the ability to mould things, and up his game next season.

The last thing Ferrari want to do is right now is upset Alonso de-stabilise team. And if there is one thing Ferrari have learnt from the Schumi domination years, it is to do everything you can to fully support and please your fastest driver.

    Bingo.

What Ferrari needs is a better team manager/race strategist and a better chief designer.

I don't mind Kubica at Ferrari, but after the Alonso era. At which point I might actually prefer Vettel.

Even though I dislike Alonso a lot, for 2011 this is the best plan...

maybe after that Alonso has another hissy fit and we can see Kubica taking his seat :D
    If only...

In today's F1 even the strongest friendship doesn't survive when they become co-drivers.
Teams these days need a championship caliber #1 and a #2 who, while capable of winning if #1 falters, accepts his junior status. Any other pairing is trouble in the making.
