Well, very interesting then. He is a driven man, no pun intended.

He wouldn't have achieved what he has if he wasn't driven, and you don't just turn off that sort of ambition.

I don't really see the relevance of your comments, given that my original post was about F1, while yours is about GP and other motor racing events.

Motor racing is indeed much bigger than Ferrari. F1 is not.

Flav is no F1 great - he can manage, but he knows nothing about racing cars or strategy. Benneton titles = Tom Walkinshaw. Renault titles = Pat Symonds. Flav can attract sponsors and manage departments, but without a great technical director he would be lost.

Come on, you know how the FIA works - and you also know the difference between regulations and the tests designed to enforce the regulations. So, for example, a hinged and spring-mounted floor is obviously NOT rigid, as required by the regulations. The fact that the test was inadequate to fail the hinged floor does not mean the floor was legal, it just means the test was inadequate to detect the cheat. That is why the FIA reserves the right to change the TESTS at any time, but can not change the regulations without team approvals and months of notice. In the case of the floor, the FIA (Charlie Whiting) told the teams that the test at the next race was going to be with springs removed, and nobody better show up with a hinged floor. Ferrari and BMW changed their floor designs before the next race.

The tests are not the regulations. The tests can be modified at any time if the FIA feels they are not sufficient to adequately enforce the regulations - ie, teams are cheating and running illegal components. That's what happened with the Ferrari and BMW hinged floors. They were patently illegal, period. They were specifically designed to be illegal but to pass the existing (inadequate) test, because the teams figured out a loophole in the test. If they were legal and met the regulations, why did Ferrari and BMW never run those floors again? Because the test changed - the regulation never changed, and a hinged and spring mounted floor is not in fact rigidly mounted and thus was never legal. Get your facts right! ;)

I can handle a few scandals, but Flavio is too much for my taste.

I don´t like him at Ferrari. He would deliver, but he´s too dangerous.

The same source that informed me in 2008 that FA would be at Ferrari in 2010.

A hint: My source pays the bills.

The part about the secret source. If Sr. Batista does have a secret source, which I doubt, then he is being awfully indiscrete in an unsubscribed forum...

Not secret; just none of your business. And we are all masters of our doubts.;)

As for your excrement call, the only way to ascertain its actual smell is to wait till next September. See you then!:)

No, I would not commit to the second part of the sentence. Who knows about Stefano? But I am reasonably sure of the first part: Flavio at Ferrari.

if I am wrong, I will certainly be happy to apologize for my bull****.

In the meantime, let's cheer the team and hope for a brilliant end of season.:)

Seems Mr Briatore doesn't agree with you!: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/86858

    (Always get receipts! ;) ).

    Dear Mr Bandini,

Further to our recent inquiry and in light of new developments in the world of Formula One in regards to a certain ex-team manager, We regret to inform you that your services will no longer be required within our team for the 2011 season.
Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience that our inquiry may have caused to your future plans.

    With best wishes,

    Never in a Million years!.
If he told Me Ferrari were based in Italy I'd have to go to the factory Myself to make sure!.

What I am believing is My own personal conviction that Briatore will not be in charge of the Scuderia next season, hence the letter in My previous post.

Now if you'll excuse Me please, I've got a very upset, dead Italian race car driver who's not taking the news of his canceled F1 comeback very well at all!.

(You wouldn't think dead race car drivers from yesteryear would get that emotional, even if they are Italian!).

Indeed - He'll be more than apoplectic if Flav winds up running the red cars!

I'd love to be a fly on the wall when/if he receives "confirmation" - Maybe LdM will call and tell him. :D

    Cheers,
    Ian

I have a sneaking suspicion that you are the proud owner of a fine collection of large spoons, all of which get used on a regular basis! ;)

Now that comes as a surprise!

It's a more eloquent way of saying that I believe you sometimes gain an element of pleasure by stirring things up a bit! ;)

Ah dawn breaks over Marblehead (local joke)
    I prefer "Puckish" myself ;)

I don't post anything that I don't believe to be a reasonable possibility. My phrasing may be such as to engender response though.
