the car is a special open version of gallardo, much more esclusive, but not a real new model. the next new model will be the murcie replacement 12 cyl. ciao
Quoting this!!!! "There's a good chance all of those Lamborghini teasers are the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento concept. If leaked rumors are correct this is an all carbon fiber car weighing 999 kg (2,200 pounds) with a V10 powerplant. Sixth element, indeed. After too many teasers to count it apepars the Lamborghini from the mercifully slow strip-tease is in fact this concept car. It's called the Sesto Elemento, which my two years of Italian makes me think is "Sixth Element" and my one year of chemistry tells me is Carbon. Get it? The car was spotted by French website Blog Automobile in an image about the Paris Motor Show Ray's headed to. Now the fun part. According to the site the car is made almost entirely of carbon fiber and weighs in at a ridiculous 999 kg, or 2,200 pounds. By comparison, the Gallardo weighs a relatively portly 2,300 pounds. With its V10 engine putting out unknown power, we're looking at a 0-to-62 mph time of just 2.5 seconds and a top speed over 220 mph. None of this is fact, but the image looks correct to us and the numbers stand to reason. We just need someone from Lamborghini to swear on the right foot of Valentino Balboni it's so" Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just came across this... Lamborghini Sesto Elemento Concept at Paris Motor Show GTSpirit Nothing is confirmed at this stage, but we came across the official name of the new Lamborghini concept to be revealed at the Paris Motor Show on Thursday. The name of the concept is Lamborghini Sesto Elemento. Secondly, a rather small picture has leaked out as well showing the new concept next to the Audi A7, Porsche 911 Speedster and two other vehicles. The French website Blog Automobile received information concerning the vehicle. They state on their blog that the sports car concept is made entirely out of carbon fiber. The total weight is only 999kg. The vehicle is powered by a V10 engine reviewed from top to bottom. The top speed to be announced will be exceeding 350km/h (217,5mph) and a sprint from zero 0 to 100km/h (62mph) is done in just 2.5 seconds. The concept shows the entire world the future of lightweight Lamborghini supersports cars. If you look closely at the pictures, it is immediately visible that Lamborghini used a familiar and destinct look for the concept. All five teasers revealed over the past two weeks seem to fit the small picture in the top left hand corner. Overall the concept looks superb and the lines are strong. We can hardly wait to see the Italian concept for real! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looks good - probably not worth getting too excited over considering it's not intended for production. One does wonder when Lamborghini will introduce something truly new - their designs continue to be an evolution of the Countach. >8^) ER
That seems correct. Thanks. There has to be a bigger difference then 100lbs to justify the expense of carbon fiber, though.
+1 999 Kg, that means no aircon, no leather, no anti whatever and no cupholders = no production, especially if your gonna sell the car in the States ;-)
I remember Winkelmann saying a few years back that the integration of the cabin into the body as one line would continue to be a Lamborghini design staple for the foreseeable future... That being said, considering Porsche has a similar mentality with the 911, I don't necessarily disagree with this. Reventon-Gallardos might be just what they need
I think its worth getting excited over as its atleast another step in the direction of putting a premium on weight reduction.
i think its quite an eyesore...not happy at all with the way it came out...the teasers were fun and now im left with a sour taste in my mouth...I do hope the "Jota" makes up for this travesty
Very underwhelmed. Someone needs to take a flat iron and some starch to that thing and straighten out some of those creases.
