    Is it purely an aesthetic improvement or does it measurably reduce temps via better thermal dissipation and ventilation?

    From what I understand, it does have something to do with reducing the heat...but I will let someone who is 100% certain on that comment.

    After a drive, you can definitely feel the heat coming out through the challenge grill. Before installing my challenge grill, I used to wonder how long the paint would last on the stock rear panel because it used to get sooo hot! Although I've never had a problem with overheating (knock on wood), and I can't say that I've noticed a drop in water or oil temperature, I think that anything you can do to allow heat to escape the engine compartment is beneficial.
    If you're thinking about getting one, YES, go for it! :D :D

    It reduces the engine bay heat by allowing it out better and easier but doesn't effect the temps of the motor/radiator.

    Don't know that I agree. I found this summer that when stuck in traffic it took longer for the engine temp guage to move into the red zone after I installed the Challenge grille and the engine temp came down faster after I hit the open road.

    +1. I prefer the original solid panel. But I say if anyone else prefers the Challenge grill, then by all means, get it! ;)

    I think the F355 has the sweetest rear end of just about any Ferrari. Debating whether it is more beautiful with or without the Challenge grill is like arguing about whether a Brazilian girl looks hotter in a bikini or thong.

    I think it's a no-brainer in terms of looks for a black car (better with Challenge). I also think the yellow looks better with the Challenge piece but red looks better stock to me. It looks great either way.

    Thanks guys, I always open my engine lid after a drive and the heat is amazing that comes out. I'm getting new cats and exhaust soon then perhaps next spring I'm thinking new grill. Interesting that you noticed lower temps.

    IMO the Goth grill is a very nice alternative to the factory OE design.

    If you have stock exhaust now and you're getting hyperflow cats and an aftermarket muffler, a challenge grill will match your new exhaust sound! :D

    I would agree with the fact that the challenge grill looks great and has a function as to let the heat escape better but by all means it does not look better than the solid panel. BTW My car does have the challenge grill.

    On another note not related to this thread, PAP348 has over 59000 posts, WOW I just noticed, that's incredible. Does anyone have more than that?

    The vast majority of people will agree that the Challenge grill is an improvement on the look of the car.
