Hi guys, maybe someone can help before i start hunting down schematics. recently bought a 90' 348 ts, mechanically perfect but needs some cosmetic work, getting my leather re-done and when i took the ecu covers off the drivers side ecu has a yellow and white wire that is not joined at the connector, any ideas what this is for and why it's disconnected. interior this month, paint next month then will post some pics, decided to go stock for my restoration with some nice bits under the hood, tubi exhaust, magnecour leads, silicone hoses etc, just done my plastics which came up great with some oven cleaner and a white scotch pad then got them painted satin black. it's gonna be a long 3 months off the road but the results will be worth it i'm sure, some great mountain roads round here for me to play on (south of france). cheers and hope someone can help.

Do you have a pic of the wires in question?

Edit: The US models have a plug and button to read ECU error codes. The Euro models also have the same capability and were wired for the button, but did not come with the plug/button. It's possible the wires you see are for the error code button that did not come standard on your version of the car.

Another Edit: I just checked on my car, and the button has three wires going to it, doesn't sound like your issue, sorry.

    Taggart,

looking at my workshop manual, the only yellow/white combo wire goes to the motronic 55 pin ecu connector numbered 13a, it is White with Yellow tracer. This wire connects pin 9 on the 55 pin ECU connector to pin 10 on the smaller multi connector, connector number 119. From that it then joins with connection numbered 214, which is labelled as 'speedo signal'.

Another wire comes from the other side ECU 55 pin connector 13b and also joins to connection numbered 214.
