Stumbled upon this forum and wanted to say hi.
Too bad I found this wonderful forum so late.
I am sort of sad having to depart my 360 but let's hope a new car will fill the gap to a certain extent.

    cheers

I live in Canada and i have loved Ferrari's and other exotics since i was a kid. The future looks bright so i may look into a 430 in a couple of years but for the moment i will research by reading the threads and enjoy all the pictures.

    Hello there...

since I registered here I hesitate to post... this thread however encouraged me at least to introduce myself a bit... I am thrilled by Ferrari cars... I don't own a real one and most likely never will in this life... And when I see one on the street I stand still and watch it fascinated by the wonderful design of these cars (there is no ugly Ferrari for me at all), the breathtaking sound... My favourite colour is the corsa-rosso. The other colours are not bad either of course, but the red is the one :)

What I do have are 50+ modelcars scale 1/18... all Ferraris (and three James Bond Aston Martins), all in red beside one black Schumacher FXX #30...

I did a Video of my little red babies... step this way--> FERRARIs

that's how I live the dream...

F1 as well is something I really dig... Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel are my favourite drivers... Unfortunately none of them is steering a Ferrari currently... ;-)

My other huge passion is rock and blues music, playing guitar and drums, and I am a die-hard Eric Clapton fan since more than 30 years.

    Best Regards
    PIT... :)

Hi, my name is Austin and I love Ferraris (and Porsches and Audi R8's and Maseratis and....) This sort of sounds like a 12 step program. Probably should be, as these cars are addicting. My baby is a Porsche Cayman, but if I ever hit the lotto (have to start playing) there is this really sweet Burgundy F430 with my name on it at Ferrari of New England (and a really pretty white 458 at Algar).

Greetings to all of you who share this vice and hope to have your own some day. Good luck and may the "force be with you."

Hello, my name is David - I currently do not own an F-car - but I am looking to purchase within the next few years. I enjoy reading the board and researching issues, stories and values of these cars (360 / 430 in particular).

This is it- my 1st post. I have been reading the forum for 3 years- dreaming, learning, and planning along the way. In July I found a 2005 F430 F1 that would be available locally to me in September if I could get my ducks lined up... and I did. My 12 year old son and I picked it up with ear to ear grins (that we both still have). I'm a bit of a car guy and have had a few nice cars over the years but nothing that feels like a living machine as this does- as much from the passion of the people who designed and built it as the form and sound of the car itself. This forum has been a wonderful resource- that without I would not have had the knowledge and confidence to go forward with my own Ferrari.

    For anyone who might ask-
It is red w/tan, but has black carpet. Leather interior upgrades and carbon for driver zone. Shields and red calipers. Seems to be a pretty standard build- but no hi-fi upgrade. If I can figure out how to add pics I will.

Our other toy cars are a restored 59' Thunderbird, 70' complete frame off restored VW Beetle, 99' Porsche 911 cabriolet, and a almost perfect 1989 Ford Probe (my 1st new car and a long story of searching for it and buying it back).

Been lurking for quite a while now. Actually was completely off of the Ferrari map for a few years but now I am back and still need to get that first F-car. I guess wife, kids, and a new business kind of made me push the F dream to the back burner for a while. Good to be back around all things Ferrari!

I've never posted, so I hope this is the correct way to get responses from the experts. Earlier this year I bought an 88 Mondial Cab...runs great at high revs. Sitting at idle is no problem either hot or cold, but after the car warms slightly and then for the duration of the ride, getting to 3,000rpms (in all gears) is usually full of...what seems like too much fuel getting dumped in...there's hesitation and some minor back fires in the top of the engine (it's not loud enough to be the tail pipe) and once it gets over 3000rpms it runs great, although not the power that it's had in the past. It was at the Ferrari dealer a few times when I first bought to make sure everything was good and they checked it over and gave the thumbs up. Is there a simple adjustment that I can make without going to the dealer. I would rate myself a 3 out of 10 as a mechanic...and don't have specialized tools. Many thanks...I've enjoyed reading the posts long before the Ferrari came along.

Jabrash, try posting that in the Mondial forum and you will get a better response to your question.

I have been a lurker here for quite some time and have decided that is time to post.

I am a fan of everything Ferrari and have been for more than 25 years. I fell in love with these cars as a child and am working diligently to make my ownership dreams come true.

On my first trip to Europe, I went directly from the plane, to the train, to the bus (26 hours), just so that I could spend my first night in Europe in Maranello. My wife and I spent several days exploring the town, visiting the Galleria and the Fiorano circuit. I hope to go back someday for a factory tour. Since I couldn't get in I took as many spy photos as I could!

I am still saving money and learning more about particular F-cars that I am interested in owning. I am leaning towards an F430 Coupe or Spider. I have owned many convertible cars and really enjoy open top motoring. Time will tell what I end up with.

I continue to read and follow many threads in regards to PPI's, mileage driven, current pricing etc. My eyes hurt from reading so much useful information. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who contributes their wealth of information on this site. It has really helped me learn more about the cars that I love.

    Regards,

    Mike

I am here to try to put together an ethnography for my class.

My main goal is to put together information about trends and ideas in this forum and look at it in a non bias way. I'm 19 and go to Highline College in Washington and play basketball here at the school. If anyone wants to try to get me up to speed on this forum please help

    Thanks

    Hey Ferrari Chatters,

Just saying hi. I've always been a car nut, buying my first sports car at 19. A 1968 Chevy Corvette. Since then I've owned 3 other Vettes and more recently 2 Vipers.

I sold my 2006 Viper about 6 months ago and starting to think about getting into a Ferrari. So I am here to lurk and learn. Right now I think I am looking for a 430 convertible and maybe a spring purchase.

I'm preparing for a future F430 purchase. "My" car is currently owned, and well taken care of, by a singularly committed Ferraristi who has allocation for a 458 in 2013. Until then I'm "gathering wisdom" from the community.

As I just posted elsewhere, the F430 will be the next step in series of mid-engine cars, starting with the ever-tossable '86 MR2, and currently a '06 Cayman S (DD), and '05 Lotus Elise (track car). My addiction runs deep however, as I also have a '93 Miata Turbo (FM Engine, BEGI S3), and just sold my 91 NA Miata (track dog).

And those are just my cars. The rest of the family is solidly BMW: '11 335i (spouse), '06 330ci (older daughter) and the newest addition, '08 128i (younger daughter).

The F430 will replace the Cayman, and do both DD and track duty.

    Thanks for the invitation....

Here are some pictures of the family .

hi everyone, my name is Imran. im 21 years old.
I live in Trinidad which is in the caribbean.

like most people, ive always looked at ferraris when i was a kid, growing up driving them in video games. on my island of trinidad, we have only 4 ferraris, a 430, 360 and 2 of the older models i only heard of.

ive been into cars ever since and our local car market is flooded with japanese (JDM) vehicles, ive owned a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 3 (III) as my first car, did some nice modifications to it, and got 400AWHP, was gonna push for 600hp with a turbo upgrade but got a nice price for it, so i sold her. after selling, i wanting something more sportish that my pockets could reach so i went with a JDM Nissan Silvia S14 Kouki model. i still own it after a year now. its been modified to drift. i do drifting on the weekends and go to work during the week with it.

ive always wanted a ferrari, still no where close to having the cash for one but one day i hope. :(

nice to meet everyone, sorry for the long read.

    Hi,

I'm Kevin McMahon, 44 yr old Anesthesiologist from Clarence, a suburb of Buffalo, NY. I don't drive a Ferrari (yet) but have always loved them since the good ol' Magnum, PI days of the 308. Just got back from Exoticsracing in Vegas and drove the 458 and 430 Scud..currently driving a 2011 Arctic White ZR1.

Oh, yeah...my son also loves Ferrari's but is actually drawn more to the Maserati Grand Turismo (he's 11!)

here are some pics of us at ER in Las Vegas last week...

Hi, I am a recent member of fchat.
I dont know if owning a ferrari is in my future, but I tend to become obsessed with what ever interests I take on (I can talk your ear off about photography for days).
I was never really a car person growing up (mechanically speaking), but, I have always been into great design, I ended up going to design school later on in life and so I am a design geek (I studied ID-furniture design, but I now work/worked as a UI/IxD designer-information architect)

I live in the bay area/SF so having a car is not essential-I also loves bicycles (especially old Italian, see a connection?). I would like to someday own a car for the sole purpose of fixing it up to throw it around on the weekends. So, if I end up owning a Ferrari after going through a few "training" cars before, great!

My fav Ferrari at the moment? The 612 or the 599 Gtb.

I'm also a part of the SF F1 group.

And just because you don't have one yet is not a reason not to participate in Ferrari events. Most owners are happy to show their cars off and answer questions. I, for one, enjoy letting young people sit behind the wheel and I enjoy giving rides when the opportunity presents itself. And FerrariChat is a good way to find out about events in your area.

    So, intros...

Hey all, F-Chatters! My name is Christopher. I'm a 38 yo dentist in Houston, TX. Just moved down here about two yesrs ago. Originally from NJ. I just recently joined F-chat, but have been reading and resourcing from your knowledge for a while. It helped with the recent purchase this past Saturday of a '98 F355 F1 Spider in Grigio Titanio! Have had many cars, but this is my first Ferrari. It has arrived three months after the arrival of our first child, my son, Kash. Happy to be on here and thanks for all the info that helped me in my decision making! Look forward to meeting some of the locals at Coffee and Cars and other events.
