    Haven't driven car in 2 weeks but battery gets trickle charger often. When opening car door (unlocked) I didn't hear the pump turn on and noticed red light on left side of dash not lit up. I'm worried that maybe a mouse may have chewed something? I then plugged in trickle charger and the light was dark so I disconnected it. I'm very worried because if there is indeed a short somewhere I don't have the PIN even though I have a red fob and 2 black ones and wonder if it will start once the problem is solved. Where do I possibly start to find the problem?

    Do you know how old your main batt is? Maybe it is dead?

    If it was me (I am not a mech at all), I would disconnect the batt using the batt switch inside the front trunk. Trickle charge for a few hrs to see if it will hold charge? If it is ok, turn the batt back on to see what happens? Just my guess.

    how long have you owned the car for? Have you ever switched out the battery in your ownership?

    I've had the car for a year and a half. They claimed they put in a new battery before I got the car but after purchase I asked about the PIN number and they didn't know what I was talking about. It was from a non Ferrari dealer out of state. If the battery is dead wouldn't the trickle charger light be red or at least yellow? It's a Deltran 800 that's not even a year old and still works fine because I'm charging another car's battery as I write this. I last used the charger on my 360 maybe a month ago and the car last ran 2 weeks ago with no problems.

    If/when a battery goes really dead, it can sometimes refuse to take a charge for a while.

    If your charger has a brain, the brain might not like the state of the battery and refuse to charge it. In this case, you are going to have to remove and reconnect and hit the charge button somewhere between 10 and 50 times for the battery to start to take a charge.

    If you charger has no barin (yeah) just allow the battery to become charged overnight.

    In both cases, watching the battery with a voltmeter is a good idea. Don't let the battery charge over 14.4V and do look to see that all cells have water in them (distilled water that is).

    Really dead batteries can become sulfated--when this happens it is best to simply replace the battery.

    It turned out to be a dead battery after all, and I didn't need to use any PIN codes as I feared. Car is now running with a new battery and idled for about 10 min before taking it on a nice little drive with the top down on a beautiful day. I'm glad I can turn to this forum for help as I did and I thank all those who offered advice and those who help the rest so I can learn from their problems as well. THANK YOU ALL!
