yeah my battery is right in the bottom of the front compartment under the spare wheel .... well done Ferrari, makes it so easy to jumpstart and then there is the lean over factor and the possibility that the battery strap will break and the battery lands on the "tough" exterior
Lol, its Nick's and its Kingchrome. Stahlwille...................how rich do you think I am? Im actually sucker for Snap On tools. Got $5K worth of Snap On tools/small tool box sitting in my little shed out the back. $5K bought me 60 pieces back in 1998. But in all honesty, Kingchrome, JBS, Teng Tools, Sidchrome are all pretty good nowdays. We use (they supply us with) JBS tools at work. Pretty heavy duty work and those tools never let us down.
I made up and placed a jump start receptacle under my car. A big 250amp one. Right next to the battery, underneath on the engine cradle. So I never have to pop my bonnet or try and get in that little dark corner if I ever need to jump start. Just have to reach in underneath and click it in. The special jumper leads ride in the 'trunk' at all times. Well, with this new battery. I should be able to remove them for a year or two before the battery starts to fail again.
I had an easily accessible one installed in my engine bay. easy access for charging/trickle charging.
Yeah, but I enjoy working on cars and I cant afford to pay anyone else to work on it. Dont all 355's have the jump receptacle in the engine bay?? On the right hand side? I thought about putting one easier to reach in the engine bay, but one day if the battery fails and the car is locked, I wont be able to unlock the doors to open the engine cover easily enough to jump or charge it. So I mounted it underneath. Its got a little rubber boot to protect the inside of the plug from the elements.
Apparently not. Never been in the situation myself though. But when my battery dropped a cell last time 3 yrs ago (the battery that came with the car when I got it), the door acuators were going up and down like crazy until I disconnected the battery. I forget how much juice was left in that battery. I guess voltage has to drop below 5 volts before the acuators actually stop working. So that would be rare I suppose..........or unless the battery explodes. Doors will still unlock, until juice drops REAL low. I see pics of guys "breaking" into their Ferraris when the little clip breaks on the acuator. They have to remove the cheese graters and come in the through the front. Something I want to avoid, so I dont lock my car. But on the off chance..........
Yes they do, but I wasn't talking about jump starting it, was it? it's also under a cover that requires tools to remove. DH....why would I have done it otherwise?
Pics from mates wedding yesterday. First wedding ive taken my Ferrari in/to. Little Philipino chap named Alfredo. He asked me to take his bride to be to the church in the Ferrari. She JUST fit in there. Then was asked to take the car to the lookout for pics, no worries. We got there and EVERY pic was with my car. I thought it was just a few, but we spent over an hr up there with 20+ family taking pics after pics after pics of them with the car. I suggested to Alfredo he take some pics overlooking the city of Mount Isa, but he wasnt interested. Only wanted pics of the car. Anywho, everyone had a good time. Some I have seen have not had the covers on them, thought it just clicked on and off. And why CANT you trickle charge on those jump posts?? Connect the little pooncy aligator clips on your crappy trickle charger to the posts......ya doouche bag!! Wake up to yourself RB..........errrrrr, PP.
Unfortunately, the "s" and "d" are located next to each other on the keyboard. Unfortunate, because the bride was advised to "choose her friends widely".
YES!!! Nick has a VERY good toolbox/garage setup. He has those Kingchrome rachet spanners and I use them all the time. Worth their weight in gold. Trying to get the boss at work to order me some. But there I want the stumpy ones. Many many times you have to get into tight little spot and those stumpy rachet spanners would be perfect. Sad part is, for a full set of metric and imperial comes to around $600+ for the cheapies. Snap on around $1000. We blow/waste more than that everyday on rubbish, but they are only spanners and they are sooking about spending the money. Bridesmaids were lovely ladies. Lol, cheeky boy.
