Actually, we already have one of these, but I'll do another. Yesterday, on my weekly drive around the hill, I lost my clutch. Mpore like the throw out bearing. Tuesday is replacement day. Ernie already has a great piece on this repair, which I will follow - only cuz ernie is helping me :) - but I'll post the particulars. Here are some pix of the tragedy. The flatbed guy was outstanding, BTW.

Ouch, Vince - that'll ruin your Sunday drive. :( Hope you get her fixed up without any drama. Remember, whatever Ernie tells you...do the opposite. :D

I was really digging the car even while it iwas riding home on the flattie. Ordered the Hill replacement parts for overnight delivery. Looking forward to no drama tomorrow, but you know these things go and I'll keep an eye out for Mr. Murphy. Plus with ernie around, there's always the temptation to stooge it up. For comedy relief, plugz might show up and then it will be a real stoogefest. Need to fire up the barbecue and get some burgers.

BTW, you're parked illegally Vince. I'm sure that's a ridiculous fine like $257 or some other prime number. LOL.

I had just got off work when Vince called and told me, "my car broke down". I though he was full of crap and was just making fun, but sadly for him he wasn't. Especially after he told me what happened,
"I pushed the clutch in and heard a *pop*, then the clutch peddle went to the floor. I also have break fluid all over the ground".
Soon as I heard that I knew it was the bearing.

So, it's off to Vincente's house tomorrow to take this thing apart.

Easy fix if you've got the correct base for the Hill bearing.

PAP, I don't it is just the seals as he likely wouldn't have lost his clutch. If you recall my incident a few weeks back I had brake/clutch fluid leaking but the car still ran like a mint, and lucky for me it turned out to be just the seals.

Well, I just got back from Vince's house, and it was indeed a blow out of the thrust/throwout bearing. Vince took plenty of pics and will be posting them.
