    I think there's one knock against Hamilton when comparing his abililties.

    He's glued to the McLaren seat.

    Until he gets in another car and makes the new team competitive where it wasn't before, it's hard to consider him "great". Yes, Schumacher had all those titles but I think what made people believe HE was great was that he seemed to make a major impact on teams he joined (at least until his retirement). That's the mark of a "great" driver IMO.

    If Hamilton wants to go down as one of the greats, he has to get away from McLaren. Otherwise, people will always say it's the equipment and not the man.

    I personally think he's one of the best. But -- great? I'm not so sure.

    Agreed. All championships seem to require a bit of luck though.

    It's only when people show a repeated history of being unlucky or restless do they attract attention (and I think that both Webber & Hamilton have shown that).
