Anyone attending and/or displaying their car? http://www.rockvillemd.gov/events/carshow.htm There is a great variety of classics with plenty of Ferrari and exotics also. Not sure if FCA is doing an official setup or not. LS
There is a special Italian car section. Supposedly 15 years and older, although there are always newer ones too. I'm actually 15 myself! JB is also planning on coming with 308.
This should be a good one. especially since there is no UPS show this year. I think more folks will show up at Rockville. There is good vintage Ferrari setup. This year even more so. Especially if the Admiral is showing up Hope to see you there. regards ken
Cool, I must have missed the FCA notice this year but I will be there. I will be hittin a Pantera club meet in the AM and will be at Rockville in the afternoon. I particularly enjoy the mercado...lots of incredible old trinkets. LS
Chesapeake Pantera club picnic is at the Fawn Pavillian at Seneca Creek State Park . Stop by if you are in the area! Ron

Boano? I don't know how to tell a Boano from an Ellena. You know if you added up the value of that row.....
What's the S/N of the GTO in the field? To see that would have been worth it alone. Wish I went; seems like it was a nice day. EDIT: Nevermind, found out it was a recreation. http://www.rockvillemd.gov/events/2010_carshow_program.pdf - "1962 Ferrari 250 GTO Recreation Tefft Smith, Washington, DC"
That was not only the best turnout of cars at Rockville I've seen but probably the greatest turnout of exotics at any local event this year except for Radcliffe Motors. WOW. 500 Mondial, Boano, TDF, LWB California, 275GTB, GTO replica, two Miuras, Bizzarinni 5300 GT Corsa, Iso Grifo, Maserati Ghibli, Countach, Espada, Pantera L, Alfa Romeo Montreal, etc. The parking lot had everything else newer, Gallardo, 430, 458, Ford GT, Audi R8, etc. They even had an Italian bike display there as well...Laverda 750, Benelli 900 Sei, Ducati Sport 1000, Ducati 750SS, etc. Why even go to Cars and Coffee now? For the coffee?? LS
It was indeed and impressive set of vehicles on the field. Great to see the Admiral and Bryan as well as the DEW motor guys and everybody else. Lots of vintage v-12s. regards len Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
With all due respect to the impressive field of Ferraris (I guess I've gotten jaded over the years after attending 19 Cavallinos and a number of FCA annual meets), not to mention that beautiful black Miura, I spent the most time examining that blue '67 Marcos. Although the '70 example that I had back in the day had the bigger 3-liter engine, this one has the same body-style, which has held up pretty well, aesthetically-speaking, over the years. Pretty radical-looking for a design penned in 1962 . . .
That Marcos is quite spectacular. I didn't make it back to the far right field. Sorry I missed it. There was also an excellent showing of Packards. Next Sunday is the Capital Cadillac show, always a good time with about 100 Caddies of all years showing up. regards ken Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
What a beautiful showing of cars. I'm now going to make a comment that will get me flamed for sure. Although I don't have a huge problem with the owner of the GTO replica having the car made or it being at the show, I do have a problem with it being presented in the middle of that group. It should have been off to the side or just somehow separated from that group. Lord man, that's a TDF sitting next to it. Just my humble opinion. As lovers of this marque I think we have some responsibility to represent it honestly. If you don't think that a huge proportion of the car fans at this show thought it was a real GTO I think you're fooling yourself. I believe most people don't pay much attention to the signs in the window. BTW I "only" have a 308 but believe I represent the marque by driving it the way it was truly intended. Anyone that knows me, knows that to be true. Bob
A Really great show and perfect weather, some real heavy hitter's for sure plus it was nice to catch up with many of you after a long time Hopefully there will be a few more nice weekends before there's frost on the punkin!!
I had this to say a few months ago when it was discovered that Ferrari had allowed a replica TdF (built on a PF Coupe (again)) to run in Ferrari's 2010 Mille Miglia "Tribute" that occurred before the actual MM. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=139596755&postcount=235 While the issue bugs me (and is discussed on a regular basis in the Vintage forum), I will say that the car we are discussing at the Rockville show was clearly represented as a "recreation" and not mis-represented as a real one.
