    I'm trying to put together a team for the 25 hours of Thunderhill this December with NASA. Endurance racing is the best.

    Talk to Dave Alexander Continental Auto Sports in Hinsdale. He has done this quite often in the past and is running his own car this year as well. A great guy who will be glad to answer any questions you may have about the event.

    it should be a fun event with interesting local "racers" and possibly even more fun,
    out of towners, participating.

    we talked about putting a car/team together for the race but ran out of time and energy.

    plus there were a couple of items in the rules that turned me off.

    in any case, we are going to drive down saturday or sunday to spectate and cheer our friends on.

    I purchased an 89 GTI for 300 bucks 6 months ago in anticipation of Lemons. Unfortunately everyone of my team members thought the other one was registering......And we all forgot. Last night at dinner I informed my wife I will not be around for the weekend of the 22nd. She kindly informed me that is 7 days away.....I am not quite certain I can build a cage and get the car ready intime.....If I do, this will be fun...

    If we make it look out for the Autobarn/Autowerks funky little GTI ripping around the Bahn....I give us three laps before failure.

    after we were sentenced to a 3 hr timeout we got back on track for 45 minutes.......

    And........

    we were asked to leave and not come back!

    Well, a 3 hour timeout means your team had 3 black flags in a day. #4 means adios.

    We parked ours last race at #3, came back the next day with a clean slate and finished.

    My team finished (Porsche 944) and we had a good time. We put 550 track miles on the car (for a POS that is exceptional), had a true $500 in it (not everyone adhered to that rule), had only one black flag (okay, I hit the cop car - actually both of them), and broke a timing belt 3 minutes from the end.

    Fun though.

    I've won a Lemons event, the first actual 24 hour event, in fact. Just like real racing, winning and participating in Lemons are two different things.

    Once was enough and we do the occasional endurance race with NASA among our usual sprint races. We're off to Road Hotlanta in a few weeks for an 8 hour to take on Seth and the Bimmerworld guys.

    again.. great pics

    especially the luggage rack on your speedster.. very cool..

    by the time i was ready to drive down it started raining, all my cars were clean and i didn't want to drive our rain car 140 miles roundtrip..

    oh well there's always next year.
