No JayPee group isn't associated with Force India.

    Ecclestone was here yesterday.
    http://www.thehindu.com/sport/motorsport/article840164.ece

Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone was ‘very happy' with the progress made in the preparation of the track and other facilities for the Indian Grand Prix scheduled next October, as he visited the arena in Greater Noida on Wednesday.

“I can't praise enough. Everything was much better than what I thought. The track is much better than many. There was so much doubt about the Commonwealth Games, because of the silly press. That is why I am here. I saw the opening ceremony and it was better than the Olympics or the World Cup football,” said Ecclestone, even as he was honest in admitting that he did not watch any further in the Games.

“I know that these are different people. I had heard about India, one of the fast growing countries in the world. I thought that is where we should be. We should have been here before. I am sure F1 would be accepted in India,” said the 79-year-old, who has been ruling the sport for the past 35 years.

Pointing at the doubts about the latest entrant in the circuit, the Korean Grand Prix coming through a few weeks ago, Ecclestone said that the Indian project was in good hands, and expressed his faith that he would not have to make another visit for inspection.

“I will come back if necessary. I don't think it will be necessary before October. These people are quite capable, and I don't see any problem.”

He was confident that the new airport would be sufficient to handle the load of so many teams landing with their cars, cargo and experts.

He also said that traveling to Greater Noida should not be a hassle, and observed that no track could be built in the middle of a city.

“It took me less than one hour this morning. The hotels will come up around the place and it should be fine,” he said.

Constantly expressing his fine sense of humour, Ecclestone said F1 cars would be required, when asked what more was required to hold the race apart from the track that was being designed by Herman Tilke.

While the Jaypee Group, which has taken up the project in right earnest, promised to finish it much before time, Ecclestone hoped that there would be an Indian driver with the Indian team Force India or any other team for the race next year.

Ecclestone also observed that it was up to India to capitalise on the Grand Prix.

“It will expose India to the rest of the world. India can get out of the event whatever they want,” he said.

The founder of Jaypee Group, Jaiprakash Gaur, assured that everything would be on track in the time bound project.

“We are also developing 5000 acress of land around the track, and about 25 lakh people would be living there. It will be a sports city with a world class cricket ground. It will be better than Chandigarh,” he said.

    More figures in here..

Formula One racing’s governing body, the FIA, has tentatively indicated the inclusion of the Indian Grand Prix for October 2011, but confirmation of the race will be subject to homologation of the circuit sometime in May 2011. Estimated to cost about 10 billion INR[7] ($215 million) to build, it is expected to be completed by May 2011. It will have a length of 5.14 km and an area of 875 acres (354ha). Seating capacity is initially expected to be 150,000 with provisions to increase it later to 200,000.[9]

The circuit will be part of the 2,500 acres (10 km2) Jaypee Greens Sports City, which is planned to include a 100,000 seat cricket stadium, 18-hole golf course, 25,000 seat hockey stadium and a sports academy. The sports complex is expected to cost Rs 4000 crore and generate $170m of revenue annually, and employ 10,000 people. It has been reported that the circuit will be the second-fastest on the calendar after Monza and that the design was forwarded to the teams to gather feedback on how the circuit could be altered to improve overtaking. This has resulted in some minor changes as became clear from April 2010. The planned hairpin at turn seven will be removed, and the track at turn three will be widened to allow drivers to take different lines throughout the corner. More information was released in August 2010, revealing that there were plans to make the circuit one of the most challenging for drivers, with the circuit rising fourteen metres within the first three corners alone and a banked double-apex bend on the far side of the circuit.

JPSK had to pay for the land acquired for the project and will pay FOA, $40 million/year for the next 10 years.
