Yeah, we all have this same problem, and can certainly relate: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKUyfEmNBSw&feature=related Cheers - DM
good for a laugh, watch it. nobody's really ever even given my car a second look here in Vegas, but the story still is interesting.
A good one liner from Rodney Dangerfield. "I found my wife's underwear in the back seat of the car. It was a rental. "
Love Rodney Dangerfield. ROTFLMAO. I saw him live ~30yrs ago, it was the best show I've ever seen. "I'm putting my kid through college - I do get better drugs". I wonder what's going on with the car at the end of the video. Is it being super-detailed?
Ummmm....I don't know why, but my bee-ess meter seems to be hitting into the red. Not only do I not buy that he has ever found underwear in his car or notes, I wouldn't be surprised if his car was not one ever used in the series. For godssake, about every five or so years another replica is sold claiming to be the original Batman car from the series.
The opening shot of this video shows a Discovery Channel logo, which implies that this might be a short video clip pulled from one of their programs. Anyone have any ideas on that part? Thanks - DM P.S. - Going back to the original video link that I posted - seems to me that the guy is simply trying to put the moves on the interviewer gal.
I call BS. Even if true, think about the demographics. Ladies who are into Tom Selleck and can remember Magnum P.I are 45+ years old now. Sexy underwear? Depends.
Not sure if Mr Sellack had a personal ferrari but the ones from the show were sent back to FNA to be refurbished and then resold. When I checked over the last one we did for the show I found no panties..... and in any case my boss would have taken them for himself... regards, Jim
Well, it is good to see that Ara is still around. The much used 308 that he owns IS one of the cars used early on in the television series. I have personally seen the documentation form Universal and Jack Gorian of FNA to prove this. Ara has owned the 308 since the early 80's, so both he and the car were much younger when the alleged panty dropings occured. So I can imagine that in the 90+Kmiles that he drove the car with the top off in period, it is plausable that a few floozies may have left a calling card or two. Ara also had a Blu Scuro 512 BB. I remember him having a friend restore the boxer in the late 90's. It looks like he is still living the life in La Jolla.
As others have pointed out, in the beginning you can see a 308 on a tv-show. IIRC they restored cars and sold them, not to make a profit, but rather to make an interesting show featuring different cool cars. I have been searching for the episode with the 308 for several years. If anyone knows where to find it, please let us know.
