That's the beauty of it! You have to drive into the garage to get to the front door. :D

Man, that's cool. I'd never get that approved by my HOA (much less the wife).

For those of us who can't, or won't because our spouses, finances, HOA's tell us no; we live vicariously through Mr. Bock! More pics please.

How will you light the interior garage? Recessed lights, flourescents, LEDs?

Not sure just yet... I do want good even light... maybe so light coming off the walls to prevent shadows.

I've love to see a wide shot to see how the house fits with the garage?
    Got one of those pics?

    Thanks

I will look through the pix that I have for angle shot from the house side. Actually, the house and garages form an 'L' with the house portion being the leg up. The roof lines of the garage mimic the house roofs. Everything is on one floor level, no stairs.

Everything should be done in about four weeks...

looks like a guys dream garage. is it me or does it look like the new garage kind of covers the view of the entrance? how'd you get your wife (if you have one) to go along?

can't wait to see it done :)

Now we are almost in the finishing touches phase. Here are more pix...

The sun/moon applique is a nice touch (my wife picked that out). There is a small garden spot next to the garage and front door. I am requesting that the walkway have some curve to it that what shows in the pix. The front view of the house gives a better view where the house extends away from the garages. It all blends together and looks great.

The concrete driveway/walkway gets poured tomorrow. Garage floors are getting painted. Ceiling fans and lights going in the Florida room. Hot tub getting set up. I just ordered the built-in grill and stainless steel storage drawers that will be set in a stone covered, granite topped outdoor kitchen area in the Florida room. There is still room for a table and Tiki Bar!!!

That is AWESOME! Save the number of your contractor, for when I am ready to do my 6-car addition...

Seriously, when I lived back in Bingham Farms (MI), I had planned a separate detached 6-car structure (2.5 acre lot, so lots of room), but it never came to fruition (moved before could get it done). It was fun just planning the garage and siteing it out on our lot, I can imagine how excited you must be.

For that one, I was looking into radiant floor heating inside the cement slab to keep it heated in the wintertime. Now THAT is the ultimate in F-car pampering!

I agree it looks nice with the curves, but why not do the entire length in this fashion? Having both the curved bit by the door and the straight bit closer to the drive looks like conflicting styles, or maybe one was an afterthought.

Everything else looks great! Good job and its gotta be pretty exciting so close to completion.
