Right up here with Wayne Hynes, the POS 'mechanic' who took me and other here for thousands of dollars.

PS: How can TexasFlyer have four posts but his post count still says 0?

I'd ask why that is, but I rather not hijack / divert the thread.

Fair enough, and I understand your position at this point as I am a "nobody" in this community up to this point.

Second, I have to disagree with you on the "low approach to DH would be the norm" as given in the picture. That's an ILS approach, so DH is still well forward of his position. He is well above the glideslope. No big deal, but for a playboy accomplished commercial jet jockey like Ben Cannon, he should be nailing that glideslope--especially at the current position.

If you're talking the option for approaches to SFO, probably doable although I doubt, seriously, that Approach would clear a small flib for practice approaches to SFO when small GA is highly discouraged from doing business at most majors. If none of the above rings true here--and I don't know as I spend more time flying east of the Mississippi rather than west of it--then the approach is still high, but salvageable. No beef with the approach; beef is with the lying poser who claims to made the approach.

Third, the camera shot was not taken by "his co-pilot" because he doesn't have a co-pilot any more than he, Ben Cannon, has a pilot's license.

The airman search is easy. http://www.faa.gov/licenses_certificates/airmen_certification/interactive_airmen_inquiry/

The profile information (name, address, date of birth, etc) Ben Cannon uses all over the internet matches the profile information he was required to give when registering his California "businesses" and also matches information given on previous police arrests. Note that arrests are not statements of guilt, only statements of suspicion.

And yes, sir, I do have a beef with Ben Cannon just like hundreds, if not thousands of other people around the country do. In an earlier post, I explained who I am (Air Force vet, pilot, aircraft owner) and what the beef is. For the record, I am also retired, a gun-owner and NRA member and the gun-world has organized itself over this Ben Cannon scam. In fact, it is they who are leading the efforts in getting state and federal charges filed, and as of a week ago, a civil lawsuit has been filed against Ben Cannon and Gpal.

I fully understand being suspicious of someone with no post count, a join date of same week, and no history with your community coming on here and calling out a longtime member with almost 7,000 posts.

Apparently this is the information tunnel that even the federal investigators are using as a platform and clearing house in their investigation of Ben Cannon:

    http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=89122

It is a very long discussion that is ongoing even to this day. The jist of what you need to know is contained in the first twenty pages, easily. It seems that Ben Cannon is also "GpalVP," of which you can also do a google search for and find a plethora of yet more horror stories of non-payment, fraud, excuses and berating of customers (victims) who dare apply pressure in an effort to recoup their money.

There are small business owners who lost their businesses due to non-payment by Ben Cannon's Gpal, families who faced foreclosure, etc.

This is the same Ben Cannon/artherd that poses like a big shot here (and elsewhere) and claims to be everything under the sun except for perhaps an astronaut, although he even claims that he had access to NASA in order to launch one of his "secret projects" he "created and invented" under the guise of Cannon Aerospace. And bear in mind that the DoD has never heard of Ben Cannon (until recently when the feds started their investigation).

Many suspect that we've only begun to scratch the surface of his facade.

It's amazing that he was able to drum up investors from internet forums.

I couldn't find a single person to pony up a nickel for my gastropub, The Incontinent Bowel.

Oh well, back to writing romance novels for a living.

    :(

And what's with owners of rinky-dink operations calling themselves CEO's? I didn't even do that when I owned Chilly Dawg, a small chain of hot dog carts in Alaska.

'CEO' is a very trendy acronym right now, in fact, I'm the VP of a club at my school called CEO Knights.

Innovation and entrepreneurship are booming right now, and with those comes CEOs.

Here are the issues you're creating:

    - Anonymous character assassination is frowned upon here, though tolerated if based on facts, relevancy to the forum and within rules. Despite your purported bio, you're still anonymous; you've never ID'd yourself, you've just wrapped yourself up in some kind of aviation do-gooder flag.

Note that users are fully liable for the contents of their posts, whether they are "anonymous" or not. Fchat complies with information requests from proper authority.

    - Disputes brought here from other boards are really frowned upon and this generally results in deletion of posts and bans of the offender. We have enough whackos, frauds, posers, accused and convicted criminals to deal with that come here on their own, without having to deal with those brought by the rest of the internet.

    - For some reason, you've chosen to make the pilot license the issue, not the GPAL payment problems. If the reason is to try and maintain relevancy (Ben Cannon has claimed to be a pilot here, but said nothing about GPAL), then the problem is that your whole premise is flawed. I did find a pilots license for him in the Airman database; you didn't look hard enough.

At this point, you've successfully publicized Ben Cannon's relationship with and problems customers have with GPAL. That's relevant enough. I would leave it up to users to decide whether they think it is a business or more serious issue and whether they want to continue to discuss it from here on.

The problem I see in asking people such as TexasFlyer to come forth with their identity may not be prudent for the following:

    1) By leaning on people who make such (well documented) posts as TexasFlyer did to come forward with their identity may just make the next person who wishes to rat somebody out NOT want to do so on this board. I believe that's bad if in fact there are those here who we need to watch out for. That stated, if somebody does want to come forward with negative information about a member, they need to have all of their T's crossed and their I's dotted, such as it appears TexasFlyer did. His posts were sysinct, to the point with adequate proof that were coupled with the links and the surfing suggestions he gave.

    2) If I was about to do business with somebody here, I would certainly pay attention to a 'newbee' with zero posts coming forward with information and really could care less who their real identity is. For the person who is dropping the dime on somebody, I can not blame them for wanting to stay anonymous for obvious reasons of reprisal, etc. I'd leave that sleeping dog alone as again, we do not want to run off those who may wish to post legitimate warnings of those we need to exercise caution with.

IMO I think we should hear the other side of the story before we continue with this?

I'm not saying he has to come forth with his ID; but if he doesn't he's just another poster that *could* be making irresponsible posts.

As an example, his documentation is not 100%, he got the pilot's license wrong. That doesn't mean everything's wrong, but it's an example of carelessness and jumping to conclusions that we don't need in this kind of situation.

I agree that additional posting of one-sided accusations is not particularly useful at this point. If Ben Cannon chooses to respond, he can do that.

This is me landing a Nimrod SIMULTOR at Gibralta, with no former experiance, I managed to land it seven times and take off again, although I was told that I severly stressed the air frame,,,,However I was then told that any landing you walk away from is a good one.....

Forgot to mention, I also flew UNDER the Forth Rail and Road Bridge, turned it around and then did it again........So yes, I think you can land a 747, Especially if it don't belong to you and you dont have the cost involved when fixing a stressed Air Frame..

    Except for two points:

    1) Tell that to the insurance company!

    2) As a student Glider Pilot in Reno when I was learning to fly, I got caught in a rather severe downdraft in which at about 1000 feet AGL, I had to abort the final I was shooting for (That I figured I would not make) in which I made an off-field landing on an old dirt crosswind runway. Thinking just that as I walked from a horrible landing, I caught holy hell from my instructor!

So, if Ben is actually a pilot, then perhaps there is indeed more to the story. It might even be possible for the Gpal issues mentioned on other websites to be nothing more than technical start up issues. Hmm, I agree, best to wait and hear both sides of this.
