Easy enough...support sent.
The folks opposing have a meeting invite on Facebook at the link below: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=159913410715043
Success! Friends the process is one step closer....the environmental board has accepted the team's request for the slope variances. I would like to thank everyone who attended and wrote e-mails to the board! Vance & Matt "Friends of Formula 1 Austin Texas"
Thank you so much for everyone's help. It was very exciting last night and the stats for F1 were overwhelming from those that spoke. The F1 team performed wonderfully in front of the board. Thank you very much Vance and Matt. Get those pics posted!!
Next week--Water/Wastewater. Then a few weeks after that.. to the zoning board. Keep up the support in the oncoming weeks!!
Great effort, let's keep the concerted & energetic initiative going on AND on! I am dumbfounded at the aloof & ignorant viewpoints of many locals (in-particular many of those in-charge). Just boggles my mind.
Video from the meeting last night - http://austintx.swagit.com/player.php?refid=11032010-35 Start at Item 4 Osiris--Did you hear that crazy guy say F1 in Austin will kill 2 million people prematurely by the year 2050 because of the noise level? That entire 9 minute presentation was fabricated media propaganda. He even went on to say F1 cars @ 124dB are heard from 19mi. away. He went on and on how 124dB is so dangerous to one's ear. I wish a simple interjection would be allowed to ask him, "When was the last time you heard a police siren?" Police sirens frequently hit 125dB; which, according to him, is fatal.
They definitely had their stuff together at that meeting. For the real entertainment go to part 2 12:51 into the video.
Oh, wow, I haven't watched the video yet. While there, it looked like the cameras stopped rolling once the citizens began to speak. I'm glad everyone else is able to enjoy the humor. edit: Oh yeah! The guy that randomly walked up and asked "Formula 1?" @ 22 seconds on part 2
It was a move to make him seem more human to the council members and not come off as a high priced snob attorney. I highly doubt hes even opened the book.
