My 99 F360 Head Lights covers are starting to cloud up and fade. I had them wet polished and it helped some. I've checked around and can't find anything else to do but buy brand new complete lamps. With all the other after market parts available, it would seem like there are other choices out there. I spoke to a guy in Miami who has taken the headlights apart and replaced the ploy lens covers, but it was a long hard job. Any thoughts or idea's? Thanks

There are threads on this - it's a common problem as you probably know by now and from what I recall most people who really want a solution bite the bullet and replace. Happy searching and good luck.

If I am not mistaken, there is a kit the Mcguires sells specifically for this.
I have not used it, maybe someone on here has.

I posted a thread on this earlier in the year. Dave @ Premier Motorworks number is 310-762-9900. He is top notch and does a great job. You can take you light out and send it to him.

What I've done on some of my cars is wet sand the lens with 2000 grit sand paper then use Plastx to shine it up and it gets the job done. The bad thing is that the lenses haze quickly again. My escalade's lenses started hazing through the inside so i'm pretty much screw$d on those.

I just can't explain how well of a service Davve gave me. Everytime I called and he was busy he would call me right back and give me updates on how the light was coming. My headlight was done about 4 months ago and still looks great. It costed about 100 dollars insured freight with UPS out there from Alabama to California, but very well worth it. If you need any help pulling it out, there are some great forum post about it. The only PITA is getting the rubber gasket around the light the sit properly back in the fender. Just takes a lot of patience. Good Luck!!!

Its not a fade but a hazing, right?

Using that PlastX stuff and polishing should do the trick. Even if you have to do it periodically like waxing. If there's gunk on the inside that's a whole other story.

I'm sending out my headlights to Dave next week. Taking them out this weekend. I'll post before and after Photo's. Hazing ( water spots on the inside) is the main problem.

I'm sure it does, but only on the outside. My problems in this area certainly involve surface scratching on the exterior but by far and away the bigger issue is the dirt and general cloudiness in the interior which is next to impossible to address without splitting the units open (or solving with cheque-book by purchasing replacements).
