Hello everyone new to forum. I am looking at buying my first Ferrari and have seen this one available in California. I am looking to drive my car at least 5,000 miles per year so I am interested in a car to drive not just to look at in the garage. What is your guys opinion of this one?

Thanks and I appreciate any wisdom you might impart as to purchasing a F430.

I just got my first Ferrari, 2004 360 spider. Also considered F430s, mostly 2005-6 during my search. Looks like a clean car. Bit high in miles compared to other 2005-6. I hear CNC is a reputable dealer, but would definitely get a PPI. Price seems reasonable, but I think you can negotiate quite a bit nowadays. I got mine $8000 lower than the list price.

    Good luck with your search!

It looks like a nice car.
Go look at the car and test drive it......If you still like it :) , get a PPI done and then negotiate price.

    Good luck.
    Keep us posted.

Great typical Ferrari colour and combination which is ideal for later resale.
Search a few more and it will probably turn up with another the same with less kms for similar money.
    Never be too impatient.

Thanks guys, although CNC people were very nice and the car checked out, I believe I can purchase a car for $143.5 K (which was the final negotiated price on this one) with less miles on it. Since winter is coming up anyway, I figure I will wait until spring thus gaining a little more depreciation help also.

    Thanks for the input.

The lowest price 430 Spider I see on Dupont is currently at $139,900, however it does not have Daytona seats, and it is silver, not "resale" red. You have to understand that the spider did cost more, and will sell for more than a coupe. Lowest priced 430 I have seen was a dark grey 2005 with 30k miles on it for 109k, sold in Portland, Or.

You can always find a solid used car dealer that has access to the auctions going on all the time on the internet, and find a cheaper car. However you are trying to buy a Ferrari. Researching market prices will help, use Autotrader.com, and Dupontregistry.com to get a feel for what "market" is on these cars. Buying from private individuals will obviously save you money also, if they are willing to provide service records, and or allow for a good PPI.

Still two days left, have a hard time believing that car will go for under $100k.

Why are you even selling this on EBAY? Your impatience to get a new 458 is going to cost you a ton of cash in lost realization from what you could have sold your 430 for???

Haha! You're a smart man. Yes, I am very impatient. However, to sell an exotic here in Hawaii is beyond challenging. The Ferrari dealer would probably offer me $70,000 trade-in on top of a $100K premium. So even at $93,000, I'm ahead of the game.

Local buyers don't have cash and can't get financing. Ebay is the most liquid market for me. Have any better ideas? I'm all ears.

P.S. Sorry to hijack the OP's thread.

Other idea's? I guess find out what shipping would be to the States, factor that in and see what market would be for it over here? If you can't get more with shipping it over here, then sell it over there? My dentist friend shipped his sprint boat to Austrailia and New Zealand a couple times in a container. Wasn't that expensive from what I recall, and fuel prices are down due to the economy, so shipping shouldn't be that bad. With the CC brakes though your car should be worth more than $130 IMO over here?

Shipping to the Mainland US is only about $1000 with Matson or Pasha Hawaii. A smart Ferrari buyer will factor this in, buy it for $95,000 and either enjoy the huge discount and awesome F430, or play the arbitrage and flip it for $130,000.

I devote my time to running a business and can easily offset the difference through hard work. I am NOT a used car salesman. I love the car, have enjoyed far more than the price I paid for it, and can deal with selling at the market.

So why not be a "SMART SELLER?" Since you already have a "reliable" quote, make a couple of calls to some west coast dealers. Maybe Silicon Valley Ferrari has a consignment deal? I know Park Place Limited in Bellevue does, as does Ron Tonkin GT in Portland Oregon. $30,000 is a lot of money to throw away, if you have a family, that is about 5 or six trips to Mexico or Disneyland. :)

Haha. I already have a few offers pending, as I've said. Can't really devote full-time to this sale. As with any deals, whomever ponies up first wins a badass F430. Money talks, bull**** walks!

Plus, I learned from selling my F355 how most used car dealers are kinda shady here in Hawaii. Had one try to extort $8000 for "storage fees" while he tried to sell my car among other bs. I finally sold it.

    Thanks for the advice.

He doesn't need to. There is no chance he will be leaving $30K on the table. The current bid means nothing, the final bid will come in the last few seconds of the auction. Do you really think the final bid will be $93k? There is no chance of that happening.None. Zero. Nada. Zip.

He didnt' put any kind of reserve on a 100k + item for sale? Crazy insane! I wouldn't take that kind of risk.

What risk? Read this part of his Ebay listing:
"Since I am also selling locally, I reserve the right to cancel this auction at any time."

The hard part for him is the high bid will likely come in the last 5 seconds of the auction.

As insane as it sounds, 18K is relatively high miles for an '06. Insist on a PPI, be sure all of the campaigns are up to date, be sure that they have all of the books, both key fobs (big deal), and the original head unit. Ask for the % of clutch wear and the condition of the tires. All of this can add up to thousands of dollars. Once you've owned a few Fcars you realize that these "little details can bite you. It's probably priced right considering the miles and options but only if everything checks out.

Good call, Scott! Currently $105,100. Care to speculate on ending price? Still have a few guys scrambling to raise cash with offers up to $135,000.

Just wondering but who did the engine manifold in yellow? I have a red F430 so I wouldn't be looking to change the color but I have never seen one other than in red and the carbon fiber like on the scud. It looks good on a black car with yellow calipers!

It was subcontracted out by the Auto Gallery/Ferrari dealer along with the custom yellow piping for the seats. Thx, I love the look too.

How do you feel about the $113k? Hope your sale goes through this time (given your earlier difficulties getting folks to pony up the $ after bidding).
