    Hi I have just replaced my clutch plate (re lined) prior to doing this there was a small amount of oil weeping through the inspection plate on the pumpkin. I removed the pumpkin replaced the relevant seals and no more leak all bearings and pressure plate etc were as new as they were replaced a few thousand miles ago. What prompted this was 2 things 1. the clutch light came on 2. when in 1st gear you could feel there was slight engagement of the clutch so the car would creep forward or backwards.
    Who out there is the expert in dealing with Valeos as everything works fine except for these 2 issues.The local Ferrari dealer/mechanic is loath to provide any guarantees and says just drive it if it is working which is a bit of a cop out.
    I know there is an ecu that looks at gear lever position,engine speed ,etc etc and this is what tells what to do. surley there is a process of checks that should be done to rectify this glitch.In my opinion it is an electrical adjustment that needs to be done as gear changes are fine it appears to be a callibration problem. any help or suggestions would be great.

    Wish I knew Tony, but I don't have a clue.

    I do know that Valeo does not only make transmissions for Ferrari, they make then for a whole bunch of other European cars. So you may want to do a Google search and see what comes up. What I have found helpful in my past searches is using part numbers along with the name of the manufacture. Do you have any of those handy?

    Just ran a Google search and here is some info that popped up.

    So now we know Renault and Volkswagen are running the "same" unit.

    Could you take some pictures of your transmission and post them up?

    Shall do ernie. I have just spoken with a fellow over here who says the way to reset the valeo is to disconnect the ecu for the valeo and then turn car on put in first and do 10 reps 0-3000 rpm back to zero then turn car off and it re learns its settings similar to the engine management system. I will try this on the weekend and see what happens.Will also take some photos
