The guy just won a major GP after being told his front wing was being given to his rival to increase his rival's chances. There is no way he had the thought process to tell an inside joke. He was upset -- and vented his frustration in public. It's pretty simple and obvious.
OP needs to read the FIA rules. A Constructor can be a person that designs the chassis or engine. If the engine and chassis names are different the Chassis name comes 1st. The most important point. The FIA values the chassis owner name over the engine producer name. Pre-Concorde 2009 agreement it was worded ""the constructor of an engine or chassis is the person (including any corporate or unincorporated body) which owns the intellectual rights to such engine or chassis." Again it was engine or chassis. Maybe in the early days it was manufacturers but if you are really a purist you should of stopped watching F1 about the same time they started putting sponsorship stickers all over the cars Image Unavailable, Please Login
Under stress and in a moment of euphoria -- you bet. Webber has known that this season he has been treated like number 2. Again I say that if the tables were turned, Red Bull would have told Webber to move over for Vettel.
Clearly you have no sense of F1 history, even recent history. Car Manufacturers became involved in F1 when Bernie the troll made it absurdly expensive so that real race teams could no longer afford to be active. Names like Gurney's Eagle team, Wolf racing, Matra, Mclaren, when it was run by Bruce Mclaren, Stewart run by the great Jackie Stewart and a whole slew of privateers who raced for glory, not money - all gone and replaced by corporate brand names. A sorry state indeed!
Who are you? OBVIOUSLY not a true F1 fan, because you don't understand the sport. Can you buy a Renault here? Are you going to be able to buy a McLaren? Do you know the evolution of F1 teams? (NO). McLaren did not start out building street cars, but guess what: GO RESEARCH FERRARI! Just because an F1 team is tied to a motorcar NAME means nothing. Renault came from Benetton, which came from Toleman. Williams started out as a March. Today's Lotus has NOTHING to do with Lotus the car company. For someone to think along the lines of your logic is depressing, and shows what little you really know about F1.
So are all of these F1 teams an illuson also? A couple of exceptions to the rule prove nothing Seeing them all together gives a good perspective (and brings back some memories) thanks.
