Tonight (10 NOV. 2010): Water/Wastewater (Tailor the message to yourself) To: Austin Water and Wastewater Commissioners, As a strong advocate for bringing Formula 1 racing to Austin, Texas, I encourage you to support item #15 which would provide wastewater services for the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix and the surrounding community. Improvements to wastewater service in this part of the City’s extra-territorial jurisdiction are much needed and well-deserved. The Formula 1 project is the catalyst we need to spur infrastructure improvements in the City’s desired development zone, and supporting this item on today’s agenda will bring this project a step further to becoming a reality. Thank you, YOURNAMEHERE - YOURLOCATIONHERE Supporter of the Formula 1 United States Grand PrixTM in Austin, Texas

I live less than 19 miles from an airport--am I going to die? In New York, La Guardia is less than 19 miles from Manhattan--is everyone there going to die? Why haven't they died yet?
Good luck. Somehow I doubt they're very impressed by out of towners talking about their water supply, but at least they can see that there are F1 supporters around. In the end it comes down to this: If you build it, they will come. And those F1 fans have on average deeper pockets than your average racing fan and are willing to spend that cash in town over the GP weekend. The city will be "bothered" by one weekend per year, but will get a truckload of cash into their economy and into their tax coffres.
Thank you. The local politicians do not realize how large the F1 following stretches.. yet. Last week there were "8 For F1.. and 8 against" at the meeting. I wish they would have noted the amount of emails received that were for and against. The track also has plans for 270 days of use throughout the year. This should be an easy decision.
Approved!! We'll definitely need another thread devoted to the next meeting. The next meeting in December is very important.
