I am not sure yet. If I can get away, I will be there. ER events are top shelf.

ER requires responsible drivers on their runs.

It was a great time, and there isnt a thing about it I would have changed. Even though I was the lead car when we got pulled over but what for? we were doing 65 (in a 65) when hit the with the radar...

I think one thing will 'change' for those who got nabbed..... a boost in your car insurance premiums, no doubt !!

True... hopefully there wasn't a lot of speeding tickets issued. I know anyone in the traffic stop by me couldnt have been speeding b/c they shut the road and hand picked the cars to pull over

Let's see: Was this run publicized enough so the State Troopers would know you were coming? Rob wouldn't let State Troopers onto F-Chat would he?

Is it possible to use a calculator to figure out how long it took you to get from point A to point B - and hence be speeding?

And were all the "responsible drivers" making sure they weren't imposing on anyone else they were sharing the road with on Sunday?

Considering everyone was driving to a track event - a place where it is safe to drive your car at the limit - its pretty amazing at how little self control (or regard for others) some of the participants had.

One's premiums are not affected by BS equipment violations, which is what the vast majority of citations were written for. I believe a handful of people received speeding tickets, though even those were quite tame.

Some of the media attention is quite comical given how tame much of the driving actually was. Most of it is a slow news day combined with some people who have an axe to grind with MMC being in their neighborhood. There are a number of BS "shut down MMC" signs up there from local hand-wringers-- want to take a guess who probably called the cops?

Giving tickets to cars doing over 100 mph on the highway is NOT BS! Anyone driving over 100 on a public highway should have their license lifted for a while. The roads are simply not the place for that crap.

And don't make comments about my nickname -- Faster IS better... on the TRACK... NOT on the highway!! Those guys should have kept it in their pants until they got to MMC, and then let it all hang out. Anyone who got ticketed for speeding like that got what they deserved.

Yes, but not in this instance, and not by boots on the ground. Would be VASCAR from aircraft above using a stopwatch and those heavy white lines perpendicular to direction of travel on highways.

I would guess it was motorist/s with whom the group(s) were on the road, and not the local anti-MMC folks. I doubt they were responsible for the response where the group was pulled, unless someone from that contingent was following the group.

Irregardless..... it's immature and dumb to be speeding, with a pack of cars, down public roads, isn't it? Obviously, MMC thought so; ergo their banishment of the offenders.

No doubt. They were waiting for these jibonies and did them all a favor by writing less than they could have. I know first hand that a female trooper told one person with a PBA card; "Uh uh, not this time. Too many people were calling you guys in"

Re-read what I wrote. I said a number of "BS equipment violation" tickets were issued. The "over 100 mph" stuff is sensationalist nonsense courtesy of the media. Please don't put words in my mouth.

I suppose that depends on your point of view. I would call some nimrod yacking on a cell phone while barreling down the highway at 85 considerably more dangerous than someone driving aggressively in a Ferrari.

The only people I'm aware of who were asked to leave MMC were asked such due to their doing stupid things on the track.
