Just wanted to start a thread about the new WDC winner without giving it away.

So no separate Alonso/Vettel/Webbo threads please.

Use this thread to express your joy/disappointment etc

Didn't we say before the season: With so many champions (Alonso, Hamilton, Button, Schumacher...) and great drivers on the grid, the 2010 season will show who really is the best of them? We know now! ;) Congratulations, Sebastian Vettel!!

2010 goes down as one of the best seasons in history.

In fact F1 seems to get more interesting every year.

    Congratulations to Sebastian Vettel !!!!!

If anyone other than a Ferrari driver is going to win it, I sure am glad that it is Vettle and not someone else. I am also happy to see him taking the "Youngest WDC" title away from Hamilton, as much as I respect Hamilton, he is a McLaren driver afterall.

Anyway, it has been an amazing season and hope to see Vettle drive for Ferrari in the near future. Now the cycle starts again, a long and painful wait until next March.

So if Vettel hadn't lost his engine in Korea, he would have finished out the season with four 1st place finishes. Impressive performance to say the least.

+1 don't know if it was the best of all time, but right up there, I for one have been fully entertained, here is to another one next year.

And the best bit, Mosley has his frigging stinking fat corrupt nose firmly pushed out of it.

+1. Agree 100% with what Steve said here...

This year was all focused on the roller-coaster championship ride.

This season has been all the more enjoyable due to the complete absence of PR stunts pulled by Mosley to demonstrate his power. The lack of political intervention has been most refreshing!!!

    Frank

p.s. Congrats to Vettel! Also, have to say that Alonso did well his first year at the Scuderia.

    Fantastic season!

Very true. None of those post race shenanigans that spoiled previous years (2008 being the worst).

Losing ain't fun, but at least the season was great.

And I think big kudos to the FIA for the new points system which made the 4 way battle possible and allowed Vettel to come from third to the title. Now please don't change it again, I finally memorized the points. Took me an entire season. :)

It was Alonso's job to pass him, not Petrov's job to give way.

IMO, Ferrari made the wrong call and called Alonso in too early. Calling Massa in after Webber pitted was the right call, but they should have left Alonso out to keep pace with the drivers in front of him instead.

That is exactly the response of Alonso - just a sore loser! The one who deserved to win won the title and couldn't have gone to a nicer guy.

Great Job Vettel and Red Bull. Ferrari needs a rethink of strategy and a new second driver to help in the future for Constructors and have the ability to run interference when necessary. I had a strong feeling from Japan that Vettel would come through, as much as I wanted Alonso or Webber. Regardless, the fastest car and driver of the season won.

Here is to 2011 and may Ferrari step it up one more notch.

I am thrilled beyond belief. I couldn't have asked for a better result.

    1) The cheaters lost... I am so happy Alonso didn't win, the best result ever!

    2) Webber flubbed it and proved that all the folks who have been saying Red Bull should have supported him over Vettel were wrong. Imagine if they had told Vettel to move over last week for Webber, they would have tossed away the WDC!

Of course, there were countless permutations of what could have been, and one miniscule atom of luck that had gone another way could very well have seen Alonso win. But none of that matter - THIS is how it went, and Vettel and Red Bull look like heroes.

I am thrilled to have seen Vettels very first win @ Monza in the rain - now to see him WDC a year later is perfect!

And what a finishing order... the last three WDC's take 1 to 3 on the podium. A real fairytale finish! The best part was watching Alonso whining like a baby after the race being consoled by the team!

Congrats to vettel and Red Bull. Well deserved win and championships.

As for Ferrari, they can now go ahead and do the right thing. SACK Massa and Domenicali, and they don't even have to feel bad about it anymore. They are utterly useless.

You may be right about Massa, but Domenicali hasn't done too bad this year. There wasn't a lot of mistakes like in '08 and they hoisted the team way up in mid-season. Ferrari put in a good effort this year and almost made it - but you can't blame Massa for the results, nor Domenicali, IMO.

Season was only interesting because of the points race being close. Racing was not fun at all.

All those new tracks are utter disasters. I am missing more and more races every year since they are so boring.
