One of the most boring seasons ever finished off by another yawn fest in Bahrain. Thank God I taped it. If it wasn't for all the mistakes both titles would have been wrapped up much sooner.

This race once again shows what's wrong with modern day F1: overtaking is very, very hard. I'd rather see Webber overtake Alonso than Alonso stuck behind a Renault.

Having said that congratulations to Vettel and RBR. But man, they almost snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

Nothing new. Not like I would stop with my opinions when I have the time. If I can deal with the BS in P&R, then this forum is a walk in the park.

    Thanks.

It sounds like you're saying Vettel owes something to Petrov... as if Petrov was doing something other than what he ought to be doing.

Maybe I read it wrong. Petrov did what he's supposed to do - drive the best he can. I don't think he needs thanked for that by Vettel anymore than Vettel needs thanked by Alonso for DNF'ing in Korea.

That, and I think you have "other" things to look forward to besides people agreeing with you here or in P&R! :D

Totally agree. I find it funny that so many blame Alonso when Massa also fell 4 places. If Massa ran all over Alonso today, I can see the criticism.

Where's the criticism of Massa's performance today? He didn't even finish in the points. (crickets).

The F10 just didn't have it. It hasn't had it all season. The Red Bulls crushed them all season. Adrian Newey once again shows his brillance.

To be honest, if anyone choked this season it was Webber. This had to have been his best chance and he came up short. Not only was he short, in the final race his teammate creamed him. He crushed him in qualifying and crushed him in the race.

Where's the criticism of Webber "choking"? (crickets again).

Maybe I worded it wrong ;) No, I agree, Vettel doesn't "owe" him anything.

Indeed. My point was that, at least according to the armchair QB's here he shouldn't even be driving the car. He drove well under pressure, I guess the racing Gods were smiling on him today - Maybe that's who Seb should be giving thanks to ;)

    Cheers,
    Ian

Conratulations Vettel!!! I love to see the most passionate (and fastest :) ) driver take the title!! I'll also admit, I had a hard time holding back a celebritory tear when hearing his radio transmissions after the race!

Absolutely agree. I was sure Vettel was just too far back to pull it off and I can't tell you how happy I am that I was wrong! :D

You're fortunate to have seen that first win at Monza. If anyone has the potential to beat all the amazing records Schimi set it's this guy.

Congratulations Vettel and Red Bull! :)

Congrats to vettel and red bull.

Alonso lost on strategy today. Whoever called him in early thought webber was the problem. Oops.

Glad one of the Red Bulls won the title without driver preference...hopefully this sets a new precedent in the sport and for Ferrari. Has anyone calculated who would have won under last year's points regs?

Ahh I see, my mistake then.

It will be interesting to see what happens to Petrov next year. I wouldn't be surprised to see him at Virgin. People say his seat is secure because Russia got a GP - but the Russian GP is 4 years away. Plenty of time to sack Petrov and find someone else if they feel it's needed.

Yes, Webber choked and was lucky he was even in the running for the WDC (thanks to Vettel's chassis unreliability). But you can't say anything bad about Webber on here, like that he's a mid-pack driver who like the lucky squirrel finding a nut, wound up in the best car. Or that he's incredibly lucky that all his bonehead moves all year didn't cost him more points than they did. Or that he's a whiner who blames everyone else when he ought to be looking in the mirror. Or that, frankly, Vettel is the infinitely more talented driver and *should* have the team behind him.

If you say that stuff, a lot of people get pissed and will just start attacking you. Because the truth hurts!

Given the age of the F1 newbies nowadays, I wouldn't be surprised if the new Russian superstar who will give his debut at his home Grand Prix was born in this very minute

what an INSANE comment Mr Goldfish memory !!

totally forgetting where they gave him a new chassis and Webber the "old suspect" chassis and took the wing away to give to Sebrina only for Webber to win the race and make Vettel look like the fool he is

Webber did well, he can outdrive Sebrina like he did several times this year, he was compromised by the team and still won .. well if it had have been an American in MW's place I'd love to have seen the dribble spewing ,

Webber has fought all his career to drive a good car, he got one, had a good go, lead the WDC for some time and then lost it in the last couple of races, but he was there to the last race with a chance of winning, the fact he qualified badly and then had a crap decision to pull him in didn't work in his favour .... but hey, since when did facts matter in this section, the dribblers and googlers still trot out their diatribe and then make taunts

He's not lucky he was in the running? He had the fastest car, had zero reliability problems, and still lost the WDC to his significantly more talented teammate. He was lucky he had a shot... he had every shot and blew it!

The chassis was not suspect, that was an internet conspiracy theory. And Vettel looks like a fool? What, when he was crying tears of joy after winning the 2010 F1 World Championship whilst Webber couldn't even get on the podium? Or did he look like a fool for winning the WDC despite having worse luck, various DNF's from mechanical failures and STILL coming back to win the whole thing?

If he can out-drive Sebastian, how come he came 3rd in the WDC? He had better luck, no mechanical failures and still lost. How is that possible if he's the better driver?

So are you saying if it wasn't for the "crap decision" to pull him in early, he was the next 2010 F1 WDC winner?
