As much as people want to believe that; it was a little more clear cut. webber hitting the wall (overdriving the car) the way he did had to cause damage to the rim. He then called in a few laps later saying the rear tire was going down. They were going to do a Hungary-style run to leap frog Alonso otherwise....

well, that's what i was wondering, wasn't sure if you'd be able to spot it. just asking. but, of course i would never do such a thing:)

    1) i have a healthy sense of humor, so i have no need to 'hide' or post under camo

    2) most of us here get along fine, no need to throw stink bombs under a random guise...but ya know, 1 or 2 posts out of nowhere, under the circumstances, kinda funny:)

Very possibly they have an opinion that does not match yours? A very good thing in a forum. Respect that, do not treat them like crap. If you have "interesting results", why don't you just out these people instead of making statements like "give the keyboard back to mommy"?

Gloat? Being Greek, I love gloat cheese. Really good on a salad. What is that old saying, "it takes a gloat, to know a gloat". Which is better than that old saying, "only a shepard knows his sheep, intimately".

Maybe you missed it but there was some action taken earlier today.

And if you thought that post to which I responded was a great post, well, then that's your perogative.

I won 4 bets this season. One tie. I could gloat but won't for the reasons mentioned. Some folks on here can't even take a joke.

BTW: Just to be clear: All the folks I had a bet with are decent people. I'm not talking about any of those. Oh, and that even includes you. :)

But we didn't have a bet, remember? :)

I think I have only 2 bets this year, both with MBFerrari. I am pretty sure I bet him Hulkenberg would beat Barrichello which I lost in a big way. And I think he bet me that Barrichello would finish top 6 or top 8 in the WDC rankings, which he lost.

I will even take some action from you for 2011 if you want to bet me that Rosberg will beat Schumi. That's a bet I would go into assuming I lose, but I will always support my boy, MS!

You are correct that some people take things too seriously - considering none of us are F1 drivers or team members nor do most on here know any of these people personally. But it is the internet, after all, serious business as the saying goes.

Everything you say is true except the he is NOT a whiner. When he is at fault, such as Korea, he takes the blame.

In the end the last 2 races were way below his level, way below and that cost him the WDC, nothing else and nothing more.

I bet you $9,000 that Alonso wouldn't win this year.

    Pay up!

    Gloat much?

EDIT: After reading the whole thread all of the typical Alonso haters are (of course) out in force despite being oh so quiet the past few weeks. Apparently we also have lots of new ones coming out of the woodwork as well. Nevermind the fact that Alonso came up just short for the title despite driving machinery that was obviously much slower than the Red Bulls. I think he had a fantastic debut season even though things didn't work out for him today.

At this point JB was 20 points ahead I think.
This early in the season I forgot these were the new improved 2010 low calorie points.
    Not 2009 full meal points.

PS. Plain old stupid luck won the Championship. I got that right.

Not all posts are greats posts, including many of mine and many of yours. There are the obviously immature posts. The point being, even if they suck, it is not at all necessary to ridicule the poster. You do not have to agree with anyone's opinion, offer factual reasons why that opinion is wrong, or offer your opinion, but not when you slam the poster.

"Now give mommy back the keyboard" was just a useless totally unnecessary comment.

When compared to Alonso, Webber is not a whinner. At least Alonso won one championship, Whinner 2010.

Honestly, the smugness (and sheer amount of - wow!) FA haters on here is more ridiculous than I could have ever imagined.

Alonso lost out today on some bad strategy. It's a shame, because he put a far inferior car in position to win the title by driving his heart out. For everyone saying he "choked:"

    - Where was Massa? Did he "choke?" Obviously poor strategy ruined Ferrari's race rather than poor driving.

-The "overtaking master" LH couldn't get by Robert Kubica's Renault. The Renaults were very fast in a straight line.

-Kubica was outqualified by Petrov here and Petrov had been quicker than him for most of the weekend. Therefore, I find it funny that people are criticizing Alonso's inability to get by Petrov when the guy that is supposedly the best on the grid at passing couldn't get by the slower of the two Renault drivers (at this track) in a car that was quicker than FA's (again at this track).

-Abu Dhabi is a Tilke track, enough said.

Totally forgot about that! I will PM you my bank info so you can wire the $10k over tomorrow :)

So it looks like I won that bet... tell you what, what would make me happiest is for you to buy that beer and enjoy it yourself. You're a gentleman for bringing it up, though!

I agree with you Pete and I realize I am being extra harsh on Webber.... but I think he was way too quick to presume the team weren't giving him everything he needed (including a fair shot) to win the WDC. At the end of the day, he was very lucky - collisions with Hamilton twice, Vettel and 2 or 3 others that I forget, and not one DNF from those. Very lucky indeed - or perhaps the Red Bull was built super strong.

I am glad he will be back at RBR next year. It would have been a tremendous mistake for him to get pissed off and go elsewhere. And it would have been an even bigger mistake to go to Ferrari, where he would be assured of being the designated #2 :)

Even if he went to McLaren he would be a #2.

Ferrari are the only team to designate a #1 and #2. RBR (or even McLaren) could both have sewn up the WDC had they picked a horse to back as early as Ferrari did. Alonso only got as far as he did because Massa at that point was designated as his backup. It was a one horse race for Ferrari after the halfway point.

You really think that if left on "equal footing" Massa would have been anywhere near Alonso in terms of points at the end of the year?

Also, I think it's clear that Vettel is the #1 at Red Bull and LH is the #1 at McLaren.
