So, I was not the only one...
Exact same situation at a petrol station when I filled up my yellow GT.
I was asked what car this is.
Before I could aswere the guy said, what a minute I know it:
    It´s an Opel GT.
I said; No, sorry you are wrong.
    It´s an Renault Alpine A110.
    And he agreed ;-)

Changing times and places! The youngsters were not immersed in Dino lore. In the US have, had people ask me what year the Corvette . Clearly they know nothing of Corvettes and your Opel owner knew nothing of Opel Gt he just bought. What was Germandino's reaction?

Back in the '70s some kids at my local gas station referred to my Dino as "an Opel GT," just to get a rise out of me, I imagine. These days, the kids are more awestruck by a Dino than they used to be! Maybe it's because they grew up riding around in fwd hatchbacks, minivans and SUVs. In any case, the Dino gets a lot of respect these days. Fred

I have grown up riding around in FWD hatchbacks. In fact, the only rear-wheel drive car I've ever owned is a SmartCar. I saw a Dino at Maranellos and, while the Dino looks good in pictures, it is achingly beautiful in person...

Proportion-wise, it looks a very tidy package as well. I don't understand why Ferrari doesn't revive the Dino badge and start producing small V6 sports cars again. I really do think there'd be a high demand for it.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

I guarantee my wife can identify a Dino. Of all the cars we have owned, that was her favorite. Photo from 1978, 02984. could not afford the Dino and a good camera then.

Bryan- Affirmative. My daughter had been over 100 mph in the Dino before she was a week old. Times change.

With the new white floor we installed, the Dino leaps out and distracts even more. I walk past it and am often taken aback by how beautiful it is. I have to stop and look and sometimes am compelled to run back to the house to get my camera.

Thank you, Fred, need4speed; I don't think it is possible to get a bad photo of a Dino.

But, Alberto, that is a spectacular shot. Obviously a GTS!

    Thank you Andres,
    Very long arm...
    Yes, a GTS.
One more...I really like the reflection, a lucky shot.

Indeed. That has to be one of the best Dino shots ever. It captures both the beauty and the exhilaration of the model.
