Nice, concise, self-explanatory title. Yet, that link might be best placed here . . . http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=303419
One of the comments under the article mentions an interesting and delightful scenario: Last lap: Vettel first, Weber second, Hamilton third, Massa fourth, Alonso fifth. Vettel will obviously not let Weber pass him, because he is winning the WDC. Vettel crosses the finishing line. Cheers in the Red Bull Paddock! And then... Alonso officially passes Massa! (of course, unofficially it is Massa who lets Alonso pass). Alonso WDC! Ferrari rules! Ferrarichat melts down!
LOL! I can just imagine the teams discussing all possible scenarios in order not to become the victim of confusion. Toy cars on a drawn circuit on the floor.
Or try this: http://sniffpetrol.com/2010/11/12/f1-2010-who-will-win/ (would be good if someone could post the pic)
Must have been mentioned before but too lazy to check: If race result is Vettel, Webber, x, x, Alonso, then all three have equal points. And Vettel would be champion because of 1 more 4th spot than Alonso!!!!(number of 1st, 2nd and 3rd equal)
Of course nobody is saying what if... DNF! That is the nightmare scenario for any one of the four, take your pick.
What this article did not say is that Alonso needs to start the race on the front row to increase his chances of winning the WDC. Does anyone recall much passing at this circuit? McLaren will be out to keep Alonso behind them, not just so Hamilton can win the race, but for McLaren to maintain second in the WCC over Ferrari. Not only the money for their place in the WCC, but the slap in Ferrari's face by McLaren. So there is two road blocks, Hamilton and Button. Then of course Vettel and Webber. Two more roadblocks. Then the crapshoot teams, another brilliant Williams qualifying, or even Kubica, or possibly Rosberg or Schumacher out qualifying Alonso? And doesn't Alonso have the oldest, most mileage engine of all of the WDC contenders? I think qualifying will predict race day more than ever.
LOL yes ... look 1st pic http://www.google.co.uk/images?hl=en&source=imghp&biw=1396&bih=885&q=armed+moth&btnG=Search+Images&gbv=2&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=
